Week later...
Today was Liv's birthday and I was trying to make sure everything was perfect for her. I sent her away to get her nails, hair, and feet done. Me and her mother were setting up at her house for the surprise party. She thought it was just gonna be me and her all day long but I had other things in mind.
"You know peanut butter chocolate cake was her favorite when she was younger. I caught her sneaking a slice and she swore London ate it." I laughed flipping the burgers. "Yeah, that girl's a chocolate freak."
"They didn't have any number balloons left plus that shit is so 2018 I'm pretty sure she wouldn't mind." Justin walked in running his mouth like usual. "Oh, excuse me Ms. Backster." "Mhm." She gave him the side eye. "That's cool, London suppose to be back with some balloons away." I looked down at all the food me and Ms. Backster prepared feeling good. I didn't cook for nobody so she better feel special.
"I can't believe my little girl is expecting a baby. I'm going to have so many stories." I smiled glad she was happy. We waited on telling everybody but when we did it was the reaction we were expecting. My grandmother and mother was so happy they still sending me names. Liv didn't want a gender reveal she just wanted to know straight up what we were having but she did want a home birth.
"When's that pregnant lady coming home anyway." "She hit me up earlier saying she was almost finished so I'm assuming now." I picked my phone up seeing it was a little after three. Our flight left at eleven tonight for Brazil once we make it it'll be a new day.
"I think your mom and grandma just pulled up Trey." I looked out the window seeing my grandma making me smile. Don't get me wrong mama was my heart but granny was my world. She taught me everything I know. "Check them burgers for me bruh." I slapped Justin's shoulder making him jump. I shook my head laughing before running outside.
"There go my handsome grandson!" "Hey grandma." I hugged her neck rocking side to side. "Oh boy stop!" She laughed patting my back. I looked up seeing my mom smiling, "hey mama", I went in for a hug and a kiss. "Hey baby, how you been doing?" "Don't you see he's doing well? Olivia been feeding you." She slapped my stomach making me laugh. "Speaking of her, where is she? I just got off the phone with her she was supposed to beat us here."
I was about to shrug but I seen her car pulling in. "There She is. Ight y'all hurry up and head in, she not supposed to see y'all just yet."
I walked to the end of the driveway meeting her at the car. "This thing rides fast." She tossed me the keys to my Camaro. "Don't be going so fast, cause if I see a scratch it's up." She laughed but I was serious." "What you gone do? Beat up the birthday girl?" I grabbed her pulling her thick frame to me. "I'm beat that pussy up and it won't be no stopping me." She giggle putting her head down. "But on a serious note you looking sexy as fuck." "Thank you baby." She gave me a kiss. She had some braids in her head since we were gonna be in the water most of the time. She was looking good in her jeans and ripped T-shirt.
"Why are all these cars here?" I smiled taking her hand walking up the driveway. "Nothing big, just a celebration." I took the bags out of her hand letting her get ahead of me. "I hope y'all didn't do anything crazy, I know your mom and grandma are in here." She laughed slowly opening the door.
"Surprise!" They all yelled making her smile and laugh. "Trey!" She pushed me playfully.
"Happy birthday girl!" Justin blew confetti in her face making everybody laugh. "Thank you. Thank all of you! I wasn't expecting this." She looked back at me. "Come on and enjoy your party girl, I ain't been decorating for nothing." Her Uncle Jalen said making us laugh. "Go enjoy, I'm put this in your room." She gave me a kiss on the cheek before joining the rest of the family.
I sat the bags down on the bed going into the closet to make sure my gift was still in hiding. I took a deep breath looking at the engagement ring with mixed emotions. Not because I was unsure but because I wanted everything to be right. I didn't know if it was too soon or what.
"What you got there?" I jumped trying to put the ring back up thinking it was her. "You can't be scaring me like that grandma." I laughed feeling relieved. "I remember when you use to play with yourself you had that same look every time I would catch you." I shook my head laughing. "Boy I done already seen the ring." I took the box going to sit on the bed with her.
"Do you like it?" She took it spinning it around. "I think it's beautiful baby, I love it." "Thank you." I took it looking at it like it was gonna turn into something else. "So you really love this girl huh?" "Yes ma'am, I know I've been engaged before with Mellie but Olivia ain't like that." She nodded. "I never did like Mellie and you know that but you and Olivia got something here. She's been with you through thick and thin she deserves it and so do you." She pulled me letting me rest my head on her shoulder. "I just want this to last." Olivia was a big part of me and if she ever left I'd be fucked up. I was crazy over her little did she know.
"It will, y'all would be fools if this doesn't work." I laughed. "But I really came back here to use the bathroom." "Well it's right through here, and grandma please don't say nothing about this ring." She turned around twisting her fingers on her lips and "throwing away the key."
I went back up to the front seeing Olivia, Justin, and London dancing. I smiled to myself just watching her peacefully, that was my future standing in front of me. I knew this pregnancy wave was finna be a long one but we were strong. She looked at me waving her finger for me to come here. "Me?" I mouthed making her laugh and nod.
"Aw Poppa bear and Mama bear out on the dance floor y'all, watch out!"
She started bending over dancing on me making everybody laugh. I kept it as PG as I knew and started throwing fake money in the air. I grabbed her hips catching the beat.
"That's how y'all got that baby!" Justin yelled making her sit back up and laugh. "See you wrong!" "I'm just calling it how I see it sis." I took her hand walking back to the bar.
"I'm having so much fun, thank you." I nodded, satisfied. "Yeah I figured we get the family together then we do our thing." "Mm." She smiled leaning in for more information. "We gone be sitting on somebody's beach soaking up the sun, then I'm..." I whispered the rest in her ear making her blush.
A Happy Birthday indeed it was😊, & Trey trying to pull out the big guns with the engagement ring I see💍 . There's gonna be a time jump so hold on .
