NotEmiliaBottas: Anthoine. I'd only met you once, at the Silverstone circuit when you were racing in GP3. I was so jealous of your handwriting when you signed my picture for me and I was so proud when you won the championship. The last GP3 champion. You are an inspiration to me and a true hero. I will never forget you, your legacy will live on in your wins, your race craft and your personality, that so brightly shone for the few moments I met you just a year ago. Everybody is hurting, I'm hurting, Landos hurting, the whole grid is hurting. I never thought I'd ever have to deal with something like this again and somehow this one has managed to hurt more. I didn't know you well and believe me, I wish I did. You were a beautiful soul, you were so kind even when I just met you for a few minutes. It's hard to put exactly what I feel into words. I haven't been able to stop crying and I'm terrified thinking about all the guys that will race tomorrow. To think I watched the exact race, the exact crash that took your life, I don't know what to do, I don't know how to feel. Everything reminds me of you and I can't help crying every moment.
'He died doing what he loved,' is a common phrase I've heard but it doesn't really help, does it. He had so much ahead of him, he would have made it to F1 to join his former teammates and to join his friends. The cloud that will hang over the race tomorrow is a very dark one and one that is impossible to ignore. My heart goes out to him, his family, his friends and his fans.
My thoughts are with Juan Manuel Correa in this hard time as well and I hope he makes a fast recovery.
As Lewis Hamilton says, 'We win and we lose together.'
