Thursday evening and I'm stuck in an airport waiting for Lando fucking Norris to pick me up. This kids texts me just as I get off the plane to tell me I'll probably be waiting thirty minutes to an hour for him to pick me up.
I've gotten my luggage and am literally just sat in a corner of the arrivals part just waiting. I scrolled through Instagram, liking Fabios post about being at the track.
As I waited my mood deteriorated, I'm pretty sure I've started my period. I'm hungry, exhausted and honestly just want to go home already, good trip.
Then I noticed Lando running up, "Hey, I'm so sorry I'm late, Sky needed me for some interview thing and then traffic was bad and I'm just really sorry," Lando rambled.
"Oh shit, you're annoyed at me," Lando mumbled, "no, I'm not annoyed."
He gave me a quick hug and I returned it.
"Can we just go now?" I asked, "are you sure you're ok. I am really sorry about being late to pick you up."
"I'm hungry, tired, think I've started my period and on the verge of tears, yeah I'm fine," I told him, he wrapped an arm around my shoulder, grabbed my suitcase and lead us to his car.
The drive to the hotel we were staying in wasn't far. Either, that or I fell asleep in the car.
We got out of the car and he led me up to my room. "Your room is right beside mine, so if you need anything just knock," Lando said and handed me a room key.
"Thanks," I smiled and opened the door before slipping in. I just took another nap until I heard a knock and then the door open.
"Sorry, I have another key, just in case. Do you want to go down to get something to eat?" Lando questioned, "yeah sure, let me just fix myself up a bit."
I got up and grabbed a brush, then disappeared into the bathroom. I brushed my hair, real hair not a wig and put it up in a ponytail.
"Ready," I said, having perked up since earlier. I did start my period but I had pads with me so wasn't so uncomfortable anymore.
We headed down to the hotels restaurant, ordering food and chatting.
"Did you know I used to be really into motorbikes when I was younger," Lando said, "no, not at all. Do you like MotoGP?" Emilia asked.
"Yeah, But I don't really get the time to watch it so I'm almost always playing catch up. I know you like it though," Lando smiled, "well yeah because I obsess over it."
"So who's impressed you the most this year?" I asked him, he thought for a few moments about it.
"Well my favourite rider is Vale and he's gotten a podium this year but the guy who's impressed me the most is probably Fabio Quartararo," Lando sighed, knowing I was about to rant.
"Oh my god, I know. He really is fabulous, I mean arm pump surgery and a partially dislocated shoulder and he's still doing well. He's just so hot too," I rambled, "I won't lie he is pretty hot."
"Right, I mean the hair, which he dyed blonde by the way, the tan, the accent," I melted, "you know I'm here, right," Lando groaned.
I gave him a big grin and a wink.
"Is your birthday actually the same day as mine?" Lando asked, changing the subject.
"Yeah, 13th November 1999," I confirmed.
"That's so cool," Lando laughed, "so we're both the exact same age," I smiled.
"Do you know what time you were born?" He asked, "around 7pm, I think."
"I'm older then, I was born at 2am! Haha!" He shouted, getting competitive, I rolled my eyes but couldn't help the light smirk on my lips.
Just then a waitress carefully placed two plates in front of us. "Thanks," we spoke in unison, sharing a quick glance and a smile.
After I finished my food, I excused myself, giving Lando a quick hug and then leaving. I couldn't wait to just curl up and sleep.
That way I could actually be in a decent mood for tomorrow.
