Happy Birthday, Percy! (2019-revised)

Percy had come home early from work as it was his birthday, tired and hungry. Percy opened his and Annabeth's apartment to reveal Annabeth reading on a dark blue chair in the living room, Percy quietly put his stuff on the table near the door and sneakily went up to Annabeth.

"BOO!" Yelled Percy.

Annabeth jumped, the book she was reading fell to the floor. Percy laughed, then kissed Annabeth on the head.

"Percy! Don't do that again, gosh, you give me a heart attack," said Annabeth picking up the book on the floor.

A cheeky grin appeared on Percy's face, Annabeth laughed and kissed him.

Annabeth quickly went to their kitchen and grabbed a plate with a bunch of blue cookies," Here, Seaweed Brain, happy birthday!"

Percy smiled, grabbed the plate, and started to eat all the cookies at once. Annabeth laughed and wiped the cookies crumb on Percy's face. Less than a minute, Percy had finished the plate of cookies and put the plate in the sink.

Percy turned around and saw Annabeth texting someone. Annabeth looked up from her phone and quickly hid her phone. (Totally not up to something.)

"Wait, were those cookies, my birthday cake?" Asked Percy.

Annabeth laughed, "No, those cookies were my way of saying I'm sorry for leaving early and wasn't there in the morning to say happy birthday to you."

Percy smiled and hugged Annabeth. "It's fine."

They stood hugging each other for a couple minutes, not wanting to leave each other's side. Till Annabeth's phone rang and Annabeth quickly looked at her phone and shoved it away in her pocket. Percy raised his eyebrows at Annabeth.

"Um, Percy." said Annabeth, " I need to run some errands, I'll be right back."

Percy nodded and watched as Annabeth rushed to get her stuff to leave. Annabeth quickly kissed Percy on the cheek and zoomed out the door, probably less than a minute. Percy yawned and decided to sleep as he was quite tired.

An hour or so later, Percy woke up from a nap. The sky outside was a light shade of red, orange, and yellow, Percy checked his phone, the time was currently 7:35. The sunset was setting in New York, it was a lovely view from his bedroom. As Percy got up from his bed, he could have sworn he heard something from the living room. Percy grabbed his riptide and quietly and carefully left the room. Yeah, It could just be Annabeth but, you could never know.

Percy walked to the living room, with the riptide by his side only to see Annabeth cleaning the house up. Annabeth turned around and, her eyes wide open.

"Percy, it's just me." Said Annabeth.

Percy took a deep breath and walked to Annabeth. Grabbing Annabeth and hugging her. Percy released Annabeth and smiled at her, " You could never be so sure."

"Hey Percy?" Asked Annabeth, "Wanna walk to the park?"

"Sure, after the walk we can invite the whole gang to hangout and chill out here." Said Percy as put on his shoes.

"Percy, are you sure you want to do that for your birthday?" Asked Annabeth.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?" Asked Percy.

Annabeth shook her head, "Nothing, nothing but we have been doing that for the past two years, don't you want something different?"

Percy shrugged, " No, it's honestly fine, as long as my family and friends are there it's fine."
