we arrived at the village who sent the quest. we thanked the merchant and walked to the village
There was a huge wooden fence surrounding the village. It looked worn down but still sturdy. the smell coming from it is…disgusting. blood,feces and something that i cant describe
we walked inside the village i spotted 10 no 20 small houses and no shops insight. the residence of the village were all injured. men with bandages covering their chest,arm and some eve on the head. the women on the other hand were covered in cuts and bruises and some of them were… just sitting their looking dead inside… the children…looked like Satku when i first met him...
is this really a quest or war?
"H-hey, Aoi whats the quest about again"
"its a monster slaying quest"
"What kind of monsters are we dealing with?"
"Goblins"
Goblins are weak when their not coordinated but coordinated their one of the most ruthless, dare i say strongest monsters you'll ever face. make senses why this village looks run down
"are you adventurers?" A older looking man who was talking to three Leather armored villagers. talked to us. the three villagers left to the gate
the man wore iron armor like a knight. his weapon was a great sword which he held in one hand with ease. his face full of scratches. black messy hair and gray eyes. made it seem like he was a great fighter
"Yes we are" Aoi said quest Poster
"That quest i8s wrong"
Aoi looked at the quest confusingly
"But it says goblin slaying quest here?" she pointed at the words that says goblin slaying
"that was posted up like a week ago. before we get in detail follow me"
The four of us looked at each other and nodded. we followed him to a small rundown house. as we entered, we could smell alcohol and see bottles scattered around the floor. we sat down at what i presume a dining room. the room was small yet decorated with different kind of monsters head. hanging on the wall. Goblins,Ogre,demons and more. the chair and table were very rundown and beaten. i wouldnt be shock if it broke instantly
"I know you four have so many questions, so ill answer them for you" he said leaning on his chair and fit up on the table
"what did you mean by wrong quest?" Aoi asked holding the quest poster on her hand
"The goblins were Normal last week but they changed"
"Changed, How?" Satku asked
"At first they hunted at night separately and did their own thing. Some would capture women and others would kill our cattle . They were easy to slay until…" he grabs a flask that was in his pocket and took a sip
"Until?" I asked him. He wiped his mouth using his sleaves and replied
"Until. One day they started hunting in packs. Riding terror wolves and using bow and arrows to shoot at us from a far and they manage to wear iron armor." He takes a sip again from his flask
"If you still want to do the quest, ofcourse the reward will be up"
"how much?" aoi asked
"100 copper,3 silver and 5 gold coin" the man takes a sip again
"we will take i-" i got cut off from Aoi who suddenly stood up. looking at Ruri and nodding her head
"Make it 10 Gold coins for the each of us" she smiled smugly her eye brow slightly rising
