Chapter 2
Hollie woke up early in the morning because her phone kept on ringing and alerting messages. She had 40 messages in all. As she looked at the clock, the time was already 4:00 a.m. She was shocked of the almost uniform content of the messages asking about what happened between her and Josh. She trembled as one of the messages contains, "Hollie, someone saw you and Josh in the rehearsal room. You were embracing each other while singing. Is it true?" her highschool friend asked. Hollie chose not to reply. She tried to recall whether the door was closed or not while they were rehearsing. She was tempted to call Joshua but decided not to. Out of the blue, an unknown number was calling.
"Hello...beuuppp!" a male voice said
"Josh?" she asked nervously.
"Yeah, is there anybody calling you that way?" he chuckled.
"Only you. I just need a confirmation." she said. "Why are you calling me this early?" she said giving out a fake yawn.
"You sleepyhead... I'm here outside. Why don't you come here so we can talk still." he revealed.
"What?" she was astonished and hurried to the window. She saw him waving his hand.
"Yeah, I'll go there." she smiled and immediately got her robe. She walked as fast as she can. She wasn't able to control the excitement in her veins. However, as she opened the gate she chose to hide her emotion when she saw him.
"Come in..." she grinned. She led her to their tent near the swimming pool.
"Thanks. Whew..quite cold. I'm needing a human blanket." he laughed a little.
"I won't hug you till you tell me why you're here. It's weird. We're like strangers in almost 2 years and now you're here. Someone might get angry at us." Hollie remarked.
"Channing?" he asked.
She didn't respond.
"I know that you lied to me. You're not in a relationship with him." Joshua said. His grin was playful.
"Huh?" Hollie turned speechless. "Did I say so?" she could feel her hands freezing.
"You don't have to do that. What's your motive?" he said controlling his laughter.
"Are you making fun of me?" she said feeling so embarrassed. She threw a hanky on his face.
"Oops.." he laughed at loud.
"Well, yes, I lied!" she jeered and walked away, but he followed her and grabbed her hand.
"What's your problem? I was just laughing 'coz you tried to make me feel jealous." he said.
"Jealous?"
"Yes, you succeeded. I was jealous even before when you had a relationship with that recording star." he confessed.
"But why? You already have a girlfriend. I'm not important to you." she said and her heart was beating fast like she was going to explode.
"I also lied to you. I don't have a girlfriend." he said.
"But how about the pictures before published in the magazine? you said you're on with her. THat was the worst day of my life!" she said between sobs. "It's so hard to get over you, Josh..."
"Hollie...I did that coz you chose Devin. I have to lie so that I can forget you." he said.
"What am I really to you?" she asked calmly. He held her face and wiped away her tears with his fingers.
"I love you Hollie, not just as my best friend, but as someone whom I want to be with everyday to share my joys and sorrows. I'm sorry if I wasn't able to tell you how much I love you...but I really do." he whispered. She turned speechless upon hearing those words. Those were the words she has been waiting to hear for so long. She could almost burst into tears because of so much joy.
