Chapter 6
The sun’s rays awakened Joshua. It was already nine o’clock in the morning. He yawned and stretched his arms he didn’t feel like going anywhere. The late night moments were continuously playing on his mind and he desired to be confined on those. He suddenly heard someone playing What Do We Mean to Each Other on the piano.
“Hollie…” he called out seeing her having a fun time.
“Hey, you’re finally awake…” she smiled. “Why don’t you join me here? Let’s practice our song.”
“Sure…as you wish.” He quickly stood up and walked towards her.
“Good morning beeeuuup!” he greeted and gave her a kiss.
“Good morning. Did you sleep well?” she grinned and leaned on his shoulder.
“Yes, at 3:00 a.m…” he chuckled.
“Oh..so that would be 6 hours of sleep. Good enough to have a one hour song practice.” She said. “But wait, I’m sorry, let’s have breakfast first.”
“Breakfast? Let me take care of it.” He said.
“No…no…It’s already done.” She beamed not letting go of his hands. “Come let’s go.” She led him to the dining table. He was surprised to see his favorites.
“You cooked all these?” he looked at her in disbelief.
“I’d love to get a witness to prove it to you.” She pouted.
“Kidding. Thank you so much. If you’re not here then I’ll not have this hearty breakfast.” He said while melting her in his arms.
“Yeah right. I dreamt of this moment while I was on my way here. So…would you please…” she said excitedly placing dome food on his plate.
“You could be the best wife in the future.” He grinned.
“What?”
“Nothing. Let’s just eat.” He winked. Then, he was surprised that Hollie was wearing the charm bracelet again.
“Wow!..you got the bracelet back.” he said.
“Of course. I don’t want you to curse me.” She laughed.
“Why would I? I told you, no matter what, you mean the world to me.” He said.
“Stop that Josh, I need to eat well..” she frowned but his words were making her float.
He laughed at her remark.
“Are we going back to the real world tomorrow?” she asked changing the topic.
“Yes… and I’m ready for their questions.” He said.
Out of the blue, they heard the doorbell.
“I’ll get it.” She offered.
When she opened the door, she saw a delivery boy holding a bouquet of white lilies.
“Good morning! Wow! I’m so honored to meet you Miss Hollie!” he said in delight.
“Good morning. Thanks.” She simply grinned.
“This is for you. Could you please sign the delivery receipt?” he requested.
“For me?’ she was puzzled. “Sure…thanks.”
She looked for the card and burst out of laughing.
“Josh!!!” she shouted.
“Yes..” he replied without looking at her.
