I sat in the front office, waiting for the vice principal Mr. Andy, saying that I could come in and see him. Thank God that my glasses hadn't been damaged with the whole golf ball 'incident' which, coincidentaly, is the reason why I am here.
"Avory Krest!" I heard Mr. Andy's voice spill from his office. That was my cue. I got up and walked into his office, and sat down in a chair. "So why exactly are you here?" He asks.
"McKenna Tylers filled my locker with freaking golf balls! When I opened it they came down on me!" I say. The vice principal gives me a look that says I don't need to be so loud.
"How do you know it was McKenna? Did she admit to it? Did you see her?" He asks. Uh-oh, this was not going to go down well.
"No, but who else would have don't it?"
"Then I can't bust her." He says simply.
I bolt up right in my seat. My fists clenched at my sides. "But the school has security cameras everywhere! Check them if you need prof!" I say.
Mr. Andy shakes his head 'no'. Why that is, I am not exactly sure.
"Why?" I ask.
"Because, I don't have to." And with that, Mr.Andy sends me on my way.
Okay, so in Technology today, I did a little research and found out something. Something interesting. Mr. Andy is McKenna's uncle, so that is why he had denied me the right to check the security cameras. I think this is a piece of bull crap. I mean, what the heck happened to America? One moment we are fighting for independence and the next we are being denied our born rights!

"So here is the homework for tonight..." Mrs.Kelsh was saying. My head rested on my hands as I zoned out of math class. Two more hours to go...
"Avory? Are you okay, dear?" Mrs.Kelsh asks me, a worried look on her face.
"Uh yes, I am all right." I say.
BWOOP! BWOOP!
I dashed into the hallway and ready to open my locker, but I stopped dead in my tracks. Written all over my locker in differing Sharpie colors, was the word 'snitch'. So, Mr.Andy had told McKenna hu? And McKenna of course went and told the entire tenth grade. Yes, life is rewarding...Not!
"God-"
I was cut off by a bright pink paper airplane that flew through the air. It stopped when it hit my locker door. I reached down and picked it up. Scrawled all over the airplane was 'snitch'. You know, I was really getting tired of that word.
I turned to see Carla, who was leaning against a row of lockers, glaring at me. A stack of bright pink papers in her hand. Carla shot me an evil look and walked off, her long curly brown hair swishing behind her.
Things got worse when I walked down the ninth grade hallway. My campaign posters hung here, only now, once again, I saw the word snitch. Because it was written all over my posters. Freshman glared at me as I walked by. Whispering things like "Tattle tail." or "Snitch."
But I kept walking, my head held high. Then the warning bell rang and so I rushed off to class.
The bus was even worse. I sat down in my usual seat, the word snitch written all over the seat and the window. Good God! The bus driver was going to kill me for this! I was about to tell Mrs.Long, the bus driver, what the kids on the bus had done. But that would prove to them I really was a snitch, so I kept quite.
The moment the bus started moving, all eyes were on me, glaring. I hugged my knees to my chest and rested my forehead on my knees. I took a deep breathe and shut my eyes. Suddenly, I don't know why, but, I got an idea for my poem to Liberty.
I uncurled from my ball of sorrow and pulled my note book from my bag and turned to the page I had written with the stuff my mom said in my dream.
I smiled to myself. Yes, I can work with this, I thought.
So I was up the entire night, writing. "This better please her." I mumble. I had skipped dinner and I hadn't done my homework, that's how much effort I have put into this. When I was done, I folded it neatly and put in in my bag. Pleased with myself, I fell asleep.
~~~
I read over my poem once more, just to be sure it was perfect. I stood infront of the bathroom mirror at school and I watched my reflection as I read it in my aloud.
"If your alone,
I'll be your shadow.
If you want to cry,
I'll be your shoulder.
If you want a hug,
I'll be your pillow.
But any time you need a friend,
I'll just be me.
-Avory Krest"
"Yes. That will do." I heard Liberty's voice ring out through the bathroom. I turned to see my best friend coming towards me, a smile on her face. Her arms were out stretched for a hug, and oh, how I needed a hug.
"I am so glad you like!" I say as we hugged.
"I knew you'd write something amazing." Liberty agrees. It was so great having her back instead of being all awkward. I felt great that day, despite the fact that everyone I passed in the hallway called me "snitch", that is, everyone except Peter.
"I don't think your a snitch." He had said. And of course, I stood there blushing like an idiot.
When I got home I buried my face in my pillow. It made an odd crunching sound. I grab it and reached my hand inside the pillow case to find bright pink papers balled up inside. They all read "snitch".
