"ouch." pulling my ankle back in pain, watching her skillfully wrap it.

"you know next time try not to over do it." she joked, putting away her first aid kit into her bag.

"we was down by to much, we couldn't afford a lose."

the guy, that was her friend, assisted with sitting me on the bed before he shook his head, "men and their egos."

"if it were me." he continued, "i would've did more then just push him to tha ground, I would've stomped him so far into the floor." he mimicked, bringing one foot out and stomping hard against my carpet .

"excuse honesty, he doesn't know how to close his mouth sometimes."

he only rolled his eyes before grabbing his bag, "this is the thanks i get for helping the disabled." he complained walkin' out my dorm room.

"thank you." i yelled after him.

"whateva chil." he yelled back.

i laughed watching as she cleaned up my messy room. "are you sure your gonna be okay for the game tomorrow?"

positioning my body against the headboard, "yea, it's the championship, i'll be aight." she kept cleaning, getting close enough for him to reach and grab her hand, "sit down, i needa talk ta ya about somethin'."

putting the things away in her hand, she sat on the edge of the bed next to him. "what is it, blessing?"

"what happened at the last game.." i trailed of, " i messed up." i let my anger get the best of me when i should've just ignored that nigga all together.

"it happens." she smiled, "it's cute to quote scriptures but it's another thing when God puts you into the situation where you gotta live it."

"inky johnson."

she grinned, "good, i see you've done your research."

"what about you?" i asked, "what was your mess up?" if i wasn't human id think she was perfect, everything about ha, perfect.

she sat in thought, her mistake so clear in her mind but she never said anything instead she smiled again. "your making me so proud, blessing." her thumb, rubbing against his knuckles. "i don't think i say it often."

i leaned in, placing a gentle kiss on her lips. her eyes fluttering open as she traced them with her fingers, savoring as much as the moment as she could, "waiting."

"what?"

"that's my mess up, waiting." her breath hitching in her throat, her fingers still tracing over his swollen lips. "i wish i never waited." she mumbled more to herself.

and at times, blessing didn't know many things. he didn't know if he wanted to remain lost or if he wanted someone to come looking for him. he didn't know if he wanted to stay or if he wanted to go.

he didn't know who he was or who he was meant to be.

but he did know one thing.

he did know he wanted someone to fall in love with his heartbeat before they fell in love with anything else he had to offer.

"then don't wait." he told her. grippin' her chin. "we have all the time in the world."

she nodded. "i suppose we do." ,running her hands through his waves. she noticed the open notebook, she'd left in his car, behind him, prayers lining the pages.

she closed her eyes, embracing him.

it was warm and electric, sending his mind into a state of peace he never thought possible.

"i love you, kapree."

pressing her head, further into his neck, she looked out the window at the shining sun, a glistening tear, escaping her eyes which he failed to notice.

"i love you too, blessing, always have."
