"how many you want ?"
"three."
"damn." i laughed, pulling out the money to pay for the vendor for the hot dogs.
. "thank ya." grabbing four, in my hands, i handed one to ha as we walked around, down the sidewalk of the park.
a crystal blue ocean heaved, crashing against the rocks , light wind blew as the clouds started to darken, consumed with rain.
a little girl sat swinging on the playground, ha dad behind ha, pushing ha, as his pregnant wife smiled, admiring them.
"hey." i voiced as she started walking towards them. "what are you doing?"
she ignored me, smiling at the women, "wow." she watched the women's stomach, "how many months are you?"
the lady beamed, rubbing her protruding belly. "seven." letting out a sigh, while looking down at her belly.
"may i ?" she held out her hand to the women's stomach as the lady gave her permission.
"twins ?" she asked, smiling.
"yes." she stood there, amazed, "how'd you know."
"i study pediatrics." explaining, she pressed down on her stomach a little harder than before making a concern face then smiling again, i watched in confusion. "you have a blessed day." she told the women before walking away.
i couldn't help but see the women staring at her with amused eyes. "you too." she mumbled, turning back to her family.
"what was that about?"
"what was what about?" grabbing her other hot dog from my hand as we kept walking.
"you can't just go up and touch random people kapree , tha how stuff happen'."
she only laughed, "they are a cute couple."
"they ight."
ha eyes seemed distant as she kept thinking about them, "don't you want that?"
"what ?"
"a family." she looked at me, "to marry someone you fell in love with and then to have these beautiful kids with a house and a big back yard-"
i raised my eyebrow to her, "i see you thought about this a lot, huh?"
"what girl hasn't." she shrugged, throwing the wrapper away. "it's nearly impossible now though."
"how come?" i asked devouring her last hot dog.
she was the girl in the movies who was raised in the church, graduated college, and met ha husband who was some preacher and they'd start a church for the town they moved too, with two sons.
while one the father would praise and the other would end up taking the opposite route of life like becoming a junky or incarcerated.
"if it would happen to anyone, it'd be you." i confessed.
she stared at me a little to long before plastering a forced smile. "you think so?" ha voice barely above a whisper.
"i mean yea." i shrugged, watching the waves. "just gotta get a nigga first."
she rolled her eyes, playfully, knowing i was referring to myself before getting quite i could tell she was thinking.
"i want more, blessing." glancing down at her as she stood with her hands against the railing. "so much more."
as the tide washed in, she faced the ocean. "look at." she smiled, "rising up and rising down. taking everything with it."
"what's that?" i asked.
"water." kapree said , "well and time."
