Chapter 3
Tea Time
It was Saturday morning. Lola woke up to the loud snoring of no one other than Mr. Dozing. She sighed deeply in annoyence. She pulled a pillow over her head. Trying to muffle the horrific sound. But it didn't work.
Giving up the fight, she desided that it was time to get out of bed and have some breakfast.
She walked down the unfamiliar stairs. Mr. Dozing's house was decorated in a vintage british style. Every wall had at least one painting of a landscape or portrait of a person that never smiled.
She walked into the livingroom to find the big old snorer in his chair in front of the fireplace. Lola was not afraid to wake him up and shook his chair.
"Mr. Dozing? Please wake up. I'm hungry." She asked.
"Mhmbreakfasts inthe gardenn, dearrrrzzz." He mumbled barely awake. Lola left him for what he was and put her shoes on. It was a little odd for her to have breakfast in the garden but she expected nothing less odd from him.
She wanted to first set the table before she woke Tristan. He never liked waiting for food, Lola and her mother would always call him whenever it was ready to be eaten.
Everything was on the table, even the alarm clock for Mr. Dozing to keep him awake. Lola brought it just in case.
She purred in some tea for everyone and jumped from the sudden unfamiliar too familiar voice that came from behind her.
"Tea time already? Honey why didn't you tell me?" She could hear the smirk in his voice. She slowly turned around, holding the tea pot so tightly that her knuckles went white. But she losend her grip when she saw who it was. And let the tea pot fall out of her hands.
Before her, leaning against the tree sat her brother's idol, Gerard Way.
"OMYGOD! Gerard Way?!!" She cheered, still not believing her eyes.
"That's me." He smiled standing up and coming closer to where Lola stood at the table.
"Nice to meet you,...?"
"I'm Lola! Lola Restless!" Lola filled in for him with a smile.
"Cool name. Can I ask you a question Lola? Two actually?" Gerard asked smiling. Lola felt like melting when she saw him smile at her like that. They were alone, just the two of them in an old english like garden. She couldn't help but romance the happening a little bit more than it was.
"Surrreee.." She said dreamily.
"First, can I have some of that tea? " he asked politely. "Anytime!" She cheered happily and gave him Mr. Dozing's cup of tea. Gerard thanked her and sat down.
"Second; How can you see me?" He asked. He knew how weird it sounded but he had to know for sure what was going on. Her seeing him changed a lot of the plot behind his story he tried to crack for at least 6 days now.
"What do you mean?" Lola asked, more confused than when she first saw him.
"Exactly what I asked, Lola. How. Can. You. See. Me?" He asked getting more frustrated.
"I don't know. I have eyes maybe. Jezus, you're mean." Lola's eyes began to water. Was he bullying her already? She felt ashamed and wanted to leave.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to, but you're the first one who has seen me in what seems like a week or so. Everyone acts like I'm a ghost or something. Like I don't exist. At first I thought I was dead but then you heard me. And you saw me and I heard my heart beating again. I still feel it beating." Gerard confessed.
Lola smiled, tears rolled down her cheeks. This time they were tears of happiness.
"No one has ever said something so beautiful to me, Gerard. Thank you." She smiled.
"It's the truth." He said standing up from his place at the table. He walked over to Lola's side and bent down to kiss her. She leaned in with him but felt nothing.
"I'm sorry." Said Gerard and broke down. He started crying.
"What's going on?" Lola asked him confused. She spoke softly but in her head she was freaking out.
"I can feel your warmth but you can't even feel me. I told you. I might be a ghost." He cried, pulling his hair out of his head in anger and frustration.
"Stop that!" Lola yelled and tried to slap his hands away from his head but instead she fell through him into the grass.
"Lola are you alright?!" She heard someone yell from the doorway. She stood up from the grass and saw her tired little brother, Tristan standing there in his onesie, looking at her worried and confused.
Her eyes widened and looked back at Gerard in horror.
"I'm sorry, Lola. I'm sorry I bothered you. I can understand if you never want to talk to me again. But if you change your mind, I'll see you at tea time." said Gerard before disappearing behind one of the tree's.
"What are you looking at, sis?" Tristan asked, standing next to Lola offering a hand. Lola took it, still bewildered.
"I don't know, bro." She responded and took her brother inside. Continuing their breakfast there.
