Peter had somehow managed to earn himself an after-school detention. You may ask, how does a goody two-shoes like him get detention? By saving the city, that's how.
Because of how often Peter had to leave class or miss it entirely for a mission, that's how.
Peter was kind of upset at the injustice of it, but he couldn't very well just up and reveal one of his biggest secrets just to get out of an hour of detention.
So, he decided to just stick through detention, making sure to give a quick call to Mr. Stark before heading over to detention. If he didn't, Mr. Stark probably would have tracked him with his super-suit and stormed the school, and that wouldn't have gone well at all.
When he stepped in the door, he noticed that there were only a couple students in detention that day, which was the only plus for the day.
Peter walked up to the front, handing the slip to Ms. Warren, the teacher on detention duty for today.
"Your cellphone?" She said, stretching out an open palm.
Peter grumbled slightly about it, but handed it over. He hated seeing the expensive piece of tech, gifted to him by Tony (he had even installed Karen's software onto it!) vanish into a drawer, but he couldn't do anything else.
He sat down an open seat next to the window and looked out. He had an hour to go, and then he could work in the labs with Tony back at SI.
Peter drummed his fingers on the desk, bored out of his mind. The silence made it so that every little sound was amplified and more startling than the last, and Peter's superhuman hearing abilities didn't help fix that.
His phone started ringing loudly in the desk, and Peter knew it was Tony by the ringtone. 'Shoot, shoot, shoot!' Peter thought.
Ms. Warren spared a quick glance at the drawer, before turning back to grading. She obviously expected that the caller would give up and stop, but Peter knew it was the exact opposite.
The phone stopped ringing momentarily, before starting up again just as loud. After 30 more seconds of this, Ms. Warren grew exasperated at that and took the phone out of the drawer.
She tried to slide the button on the screen to accept the call, but it wouldn't work. Karen's voice came out of the receiver, loud, clear, and most of all hostile.
"Biometrics not authorized. Calling boss." The AI said, Ms. Warren all but gaping at the phone in shock.
There was a soft click, and then Tony Stark's voice echoed through the classroom. "Who are you, and why do you have my son's phone?"
"I, um, I'm Ms. Warren, Peter Parker's teacher, and supervisor in detention. Did you say he was your son?" She said, curiosity getting the better of her.
"Unimportant. Now, tell the kid to pack up, we gotta go." He said, leaving no room for arguments.
"But-" Ms. Warren said, before the call ended. Peter walked up to her and took the phone back and started to pack up.
It turns out that getting out of detention was one of the lesser known benefits of having a superhero family (including Tony Freaking Stark as his dad)!
