A/N - Still sick... Updates will be slow... Sorry 😭
Richie
The call came up from downstairs and I told the security person to let Doctor B upstairs. I didn't want to leave Dylan's side. He looked so small and fragile as he sat on my couch and looked around him with curiosity. He wasn't, but the illusion was perfect.
"She's on her way up." I told him when he looked over with the question in his eyes. He nodded and put out his arms to me. I smiled and came back to sit next to him and hold him close to me. He smelled so good. It felt so right.
"I'll tell her my story." He murmured into my chest. I nodded and stroked his hair soothingly. It would take a few minutes to pass through security and then another while to get up the elevator and down the hall.
"Just relax until she arrives. I've got you." I soothed him gently and smiled as he snuggled into my chest. If I loved the others, I simply adored this version of him. Dylan was such a sweet boy. Very cuddly when I had got him inside and on the couch.
"You are so comfortable. It feels like I have known you forever." He admitted sheepishly. I chuckled a bit.
"I'm glad. I guess in a way you have known me a long time. It will all come back to you eventually. Don't worry about it." I kissed his crown and rubbed his back with long strokes. The bell rang for the door and I reluctantly got up to answer it.
"Hello. How is he?" Was her first words. She looked worried, so I smiled to relax her.
"Hello Doctor B. He is doing okay. Really. Come on into the living room." I waved her in and watched her look over the man slouched on the couch with a critical eye.
"Hey Doctor B. Thank you for coming so quickly." He said politely. I came and sat next to him, and he curled into me protectively. It made me feel good to have him do that in front of her. I swallowed a thick dose of happiness in the seriousness of the moment.
"It was no problem. Denis?" Her voice held a question in it. She had read a change in his behaviour, like any good doctor would have picked up on. He chuckled a little softly.
"I guess that is a fair question. He is not here at the moment. They can't be out while I am awake right now." He replied with a sad smile.
"Are you... are you 'him'? The sleeping identity?" Doctor B asked curiously. He hesitated and then nodded slowly.
"Yes. I suppose I am. Does that make me sleeping beauty?" He laughed a little and she chuckled along with him.
"I guess it does. What is your name?" She asked respectfully. He looked up at me and then replied.
"My name is Dylan. Dylan Redstone. It is nice to meet you Doctor B." He nodded to her. She smiled and nodded back.
"It is very nice to meet you too, Dylan. So, can you tell me what happened? How did you... wake up?" She asked carefully. I felt Dylan shift a little in my arms.
"Um, I think it started with the pictures. Today, I am not really sure what happened. Maybe it was because I felt so comfortable with Richie." He looked up at me, and we smiled at each other. I knew he was lying, but it was alright. It meant he wanted to protect me just as much as I wanted to protect him.
"So you just... woke up for Richie?" She asked. He nodded. I didn't say a word. It was because I said his name. He woke up because I knew his name, knew him. I chuckled inside and watched him continue as though he wasn't fabricating it.
"Yes. He brought me home after our date, and I just woke up. It was really strange. It was like I have known him for a really long time, even though I just met him. He told me about the others, and how I was seeing you." He told her innocently. She ate it up like a starving woman.
