Our little studying session went pretty well. He explained some facts and topics that I had struggled to understand until now and I taught him the correct way to use the formulas and not jumble them up until you yourself get confused.

The rest of the day went pretty okay. My last subject was Literature and we had substitute so I didn't do anything throughout the period.

I went through my social media for the first time in a while. I turned off my notifications for it so I'm never aware of anything. There are probably some memes and trends that I missed, not that I'm complaining.

I scrolled through Instagram and saw that Eve posted some pictures of what looked like a small hangout between her, Alex, Oliver and two other guys from his gang.

I frowned. They must be having fun without me. I mean, I could tell how she was having the best time in her life with all the pictures she posted.

Whatever, they're your friends, Ruby. Getting jealous is stupid.

I let out a heavy sigh and left the app to go to Twitter. I scrolled through my timeline, hoping to see something important or funny or relatable or any of the sort.

Then I came across a tweet from Eve.

'He chose the right girl ;)' read the tweet.

My eyebrows knot in confusion. Who is she talking about? I clicked on her profile and tried searching for any tweets that could maybe connect the dots?

'She can't give you what you want.. I can :) To hell and beyond!'

Who the hell is she talking about? Did she steal someone's guy? No no Eve wouldn't do that..

would she?

For some reason the tweets spiralled in my head for the rest of the day. I don't know what is bothering me so much about it but it is and I can't put a finger as to why.

I was walking out of school just like everyone else, but my thoughts elsewhere. Then I felt a grip on both of my shoulders gently pushing me aside.

"Dumbass use the sidewalk. You were literally about to walk to the middle of the road, are you trying to get yourself killed?" says Ethan.

"Sorry" I mumbled.

"What were you thinking so much about?"

"It's nothing."

"I'm not accepting that as an answer" he stood in front of me with his arms crossed.

"Tell me? Maybe I could do something about it."

"Well you can't."

"You don't know that."

"I just- I-I need to go home" I walked past him and just as I was about to walk away he grabs my arm.

"I wanna bring you somewhere" he smiles and pulls me towards his bicycle.

"Wait what? Where?"

"You'll see."

"I need to go home, Ethan."

"No you don't" he smirks.

"W-What?"

"Just follow would you?" he pats the metal seat at the back of his bicycle. I hesitantly sat down and we went off.

"How long is this gonna take?"

"I don't know" I could feel him smirking teasingly.

"Gosh this is tiring" I mumbled.

"It won't be if you don't think so badly of me."

"I don't!"

"Sure, I totally believe you."

"You just annoy the hell out of me."

"You needed someone to."

For some reason those words hit a part of myself, I didn't know why or where or how.

"How long is it gonna take for us to get there?" I changed the topic.

"You know what's our similarities?" he says.

"What?"

"We both ask each other too many questions and it never fails to frustrate the other."

Without realising, a smile creeps on my face.

"I agree."
