/Third Person P.O.V./
As Patton entered the library the familiar smell of books and coffee washed over him, and he sighed in pleasure. He'd always loved the place ever since he was a child. There just was something about it he couldn't describe with words...(That's me with libraries and bookshops :333)
He was looking around for the librarian, Miss Wormwood, but couldn't find her anywhere so he decided to pull out one of his short-story-collection books and read quietly in a corner of the beautiful and mysterious building. He walked around, looking carefully behind shelves or bookcases, but no matter where he turned all the tables had at least four or five people on them...well, all exept for one.
There was indeed one table with only one person sitting at it and Patton remembered seeing the guy in school a couple times, and knew he was basically the smartest kid in the place...Patton also found him quite attractive.
He finally, after a couple seconds of internal conflict, decided to sit down near the boy, who did not acknowledge his presence in the slightest. Patton being Patton, decided to attempt starting a conversation to break the extremely awkward, in his opinion at lest, silence. "Ehm, Hi! I'm Patton Lovelace. Logan Tech, right?"
The boy in the black polo and blue tie looked up and nodded. "Yes. That would be me." He then immediately looked back down to his book, and Patton thought his trying to start a conversation wasn't the wisest thing he could have thought of, but he let it go. The boy clearly didn't wish to talk to him, and although the thought stung a bit, he respected the other's decision.
"Wait. Are you the student who wrote the short story 'The Five Leaf Clover' (cover improvised this second, inspired by the three leaf clover shaped candle I got for my birthday, lmao) ?"
Patton's face immediately lit up as he shuffled closer to Logan. "Yes! It's mine!" His smile faded a bit at the other's unimpressed expression. "D-did you like it?"
The boy in the black polo's lips turned up to make a little, but extremely honest, smile. "Yes, I enjoyed it very much. I found it very enchanting and well written." Patton was now practically glowing with happiness.
Without thinking he reached out with his hand and wrapped it around Logan's forearm, but never braking eye contact. "Thank you so much! I'm so happy you liked it!"
The other's smile grew just a little, but as soon as Patton awkwardly lifted his hand from the other's forearm the boy noticed the lack of "warmth" Patton's hand had briefly provided, so naturally, his gaze went from his book to his arm.
That's when it happened. It was all extremely quick, so much Patton didn't register it till a couple seconds later. All he knew was that...the boy, Logan, had left, mumbling an incoherent apology and a book was lying open on the table.
What he didn't know, however, was that the dark mark on his palm had now disappeared.
