"Please. Winter, don't hurt him. I need..." mumbled Pixie.
A blade of ice formed inside of Winter's palm. Joe tightened his grip on Winter's shoulder. While a hurricane of chaos ensued around Joe and Winter, they enjoyed the serenity that came from being in the eye of the storm.
"I don't know why you're doing all of this, but you have to stop. It isn't cool hurting innocent people. I don't see why you can't lift weights or write angry letters to let off all this steam" said Joe.
Joe noticed Winter's eight pack,
"Then again, you might want to lift less weight."
The blade of ice in Winter's hand melted.
"What are you two doing here?" asked Winter.
Joe swung his head left and right.
"Who are you talking to?"
Two women stepped out of the dark alley beside the skyscraper Pixie slid down. One woman had an orange complexion with long auburn hair. She wore a gown decorated with red, brown, and yellow leaves. The other woman had long emerald green hair tied into a french braid that hung over her chest. Instead of knuckles, she had flower petals. Her fingers were long vines and she had greenish skin. A wreath crown of white tulips wrapped around her head, and two thorns protruded out of the side of her neck.
"Autumn and Spring? Can someone explain what's going on?" groaned Pixie.
"Aw, you don't look so cute right now" giggled Spring.
Autumn walked over to Winter, "Come on. Let's get out of here. You got your point across."
Winter snarled,
"How?! She's still alive!"
Spring grabbed a handful of Pixie's hair and pulled at it.
"He's right. It wouldn't take much to kill her. Please Autumn! Let me snap her neck! I could flip her head upside down and fill it with flowers. She'd make a lovely vase!" said Spring.
"Hey! Leave her alone! What's wrong with you? Can't you see that she's in pain?" said Joe.
Spring scowled at Joe and tugged at Pixie's hair even tighter,
"I'm doing this because it's painful you gnat! Uh, your head would make an ugly vase. It reminds me of a root, something that should be left under the dirt."
Autumn snapped her fingers,
"Spring. Do as he wishes and let her go"
"Aw, you're withering my flower of fun" said Spring. She released Pixie.
"Thanks" said Joe.
"Why would you thank the enemy? You humans are so myopic" said Autumn.
A cold breeze pressed against Joe's skin as Winter followed Autumn. He watched as the trio moved into the darkness of the alley. Suddenly Autumn, who led the pack, halted,
"Beware Time Keeper. Every season has its end, and the season of the Time Keeper is reaching its end. No different than summer transitioning into the fall, my appearance is the sign of the end. Not the end of the year, but the end of your time. Your fall is imminent."
After those cryptic words. Autumn led Winter and Spring into the alley, where they vanished. Joe hurried to Pixie and dropped to one knee.
"Hey, I'll carry you to the hospital if I need to."
Pixie mustered her strength and slowly petted Joe's face with the back of her hand. A smile pushed her cheeks upward as her body floated in the same direction.
