Headcanons basically before they met Ava.

-I won't go into detail but all I'll say is when on one of their mission an incident happened, they were just fighting off the enemies, that's all it was supposed to be. Everything perfectly planned out by Rhys, Leif scouted the area invisible to make sure no one was hiding where they couldn't see them, and Noi looked out to make sure their were no archers hiding in the trees.

-Except they underestimated one thing, how easy it was to reach up and grab one of their horns and tug at them with all their might and possibly crack them. And an enemy tried and succeded too.

-The sickening crack that filled the air followed along with a raw anguished scream and then the metallic aroma of blood filled the air, they didn't know could happen, no one knew that horns could crack but they learned that day. The day when Pierce cracked his horns and proved that anything can happen if an enemy gets too close.
