On one of the one-shots, I'm writing in the one-shot book, this wasn't requested to.
. . .
So Rhys, aware of the fact that Pierce enjoys white noise, something that could easily get his mind off of it all, started to quietly talk about things that happened to him as a child, things that had happy endings, things that made Rhys happy. Whether or not Pierce needed to listen or not it filled that empty bowl of silence that was left before him Pierce knew one thing, it helped him.
He found his mind slowly drifting asleep, after everything, the sensory overload, the running, the headache and him trying to make his way through the crowd all made him tired and Rhys telling him minor happy stories from his childhood helped him relax and had sleep tugging at his mind trying to pull him in.
But then you have the voice at the back of his head telling him to stay awake, they have the festival, the others are looking for them and Ava was so happy to be here; he had to stay awake for them. He knew he couldn't go to sleep just yet, but it was just so tempting but he took the chance whether he liked it or not. And so, Rhys let his mind drift into telling another story he became so focused on that when he came back from the ending of it he found Pierce asleep, slightly curled up next to him as he was leaning on his shoulder, a peaceful look on his face.
Rhys softly smiled, I helped, he thought. But then he remembered, it wasn't time to sleep, it was time to go find the others which meant waking his friend up from a probably well-needed nap. Now was not the time for napping, let alone sleep, they had a full day ahead of them.
He nudged Pierce with his shoulder who mumbled in response. "This wouldn't be a very comfortable place to doze off, you know," Rhys said, Pierce stayed quiet in response, he nudged him again and Pierce began to sit up, a drowsy look on his face. "What?" Pierce asked. "We have the rest of the festival to attend to so I'm afraid sleeping will have to wait till later on," Rhys stated, that caught Pierce's attention and he began to sit up.
"Yes, let's go then," Pierce said in a rushed tone.
Rhys nodded, it'd be best to make sure the others knew they were doing okay before things got worse. And so Rhys got up and they set off to go find the others, once again enter the festival and setting off to find the others.
And so, Rhys and a half-asleep Pierce easily found the others who seemed to be making their way towards the entrance. He waved them over, catching their attention and trying to signal that he had defused the situation.
. . .
"Rhys, I thought you said you weren't a siren," Leif commented with an annoyed tone of voice, Ava looked towards him with a confused look on her face. "Leif..." Rhys sighed, shaking his head. "I'm 100% sure I'm not. I just happen to have this effect on certain daemos, which includes him, maybe if you actually paid attention the last time I explained this you'd know why." Rhys stated. "Yeah! Pierce likes-" Noi exclaimed but was quickly cut off by Leif. "No, he's half-siren-"
He looked Rhys right in the eyes. "-he has to be. No Daemos could have such an effect on other Daemos," Leif stated, a grin on his face, he was exaggerating the situation as always. Rhys looked to Asch, trying to signal for him to back him up on the situation, however, he was incorrect with that assumption. "Rhys, as much as I hate to say this I agree with Leif just this once," Asch confirmed.
. . .
That's it, for now.
