Excuse any mistakes!
Kardi Chase
"Deanna, what are you doing here?" I asked stepping out the house closing the door behind me.
"David invited me. I would like to see my new grandchild if that's okay with you."
"Where have you been? You haven't talked to Dave in 4 long months. Do you know what that was like for him?"
"I know and I've made a terrible mistake by ignoring him. I just disappointed him once again so I thought he wouldn't want to see me anymore."
I jerked my head back. "So instead of trying to see him or even call you thought it was best to just forget about your son?"
"Kardi, I'm trying okay."
"HOW ARE YOU TRYING?" I snapped. "This man would cry! I mean cry himself to sleep just waiting on you to pick up the phone and return a simple fucking phone call."
"I know what I did was wrong but don't yell at me like some child."
"Or what?" I stepped closer.
"That's enough." Dave grabbed my hand pulling me to the side. I didn't even know he was out here. He grabbed my balled-up fist I didn't realize was balled up. He gave me a questioning look.
"I invited her here today for peace."
"You want me to just forget about everything that happened David?"
He nodded. "What's fighting going to do? You wanna fight my mama Kardi?"
"Yes, I would fight her for you."
"Stop talking crazy." He laughed walking over to her. "Come on ma, it's somebody I want you to meet."
He took her inside while stood there thinking. It's something off about her. I don't know what it is but I'm going to figure it out. I would love to beat her old ass, Lord forgive me. But if Dave says no then I'll let it be for now but she bet not try me. She has lost all my respect.
I took a deep breath going back inside. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I seen Ella talking to Rose and Paisley so I invited myself over.
"Hi, Ella." I gave her a hug.
"Hey, how are you? You feeling okay?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm good. I'm glad my baby is home. It's been hard."
"I couldn't imagine."
"Where's your dad? I thought he would be here."
"He's working. Once he found that good job down here, he's not letting go. So he's been working himself. He doesn't want to fall back into his old ways."
"That's good, tell him I said hello." I said. "Rose?"
"Hmm?" She seemed zoned out.
"What's wrong?"
