"Ready to go?" I asked Kardi. The doctor wanted to keep her overnight just to evaluate her and make sure she was straight.
"Yes." The nurse came back with her discharge papers and said we were good to go.
"What you tryna do now?" I asked her as we walked to my car.
"Umm, let's get food. I'm starving."
"Chick-fil-a?" I asked since it was right there.
"Sure." I got over in the right lane turning in then pulling into the drive-thru.
"You hungry, Kody?" She asked him.
"Yesss!" He rubbed his stomach making us laugh.
"What are you getting?"
"Chicken biscuit meal with an orange juice." She answered.
"That sound bomb, I'll get the same."
We ordered and I paid for our food then I headed to Kardi house. Almost 20 minutes later we were pulling into the driveway.
"Who brought my car back?"
"Your brother had somebody bring it."
"Oh." She simply said. Ever since yesterday, she has kinda been standoffish. I understand what happened, but she needs to express how she feels, having all that negative energy bottled up inside is not healthy.
"You good?" I asked as I helped Kody out the car.
"I'm fine." She forced a smile.
I let it go for now. We all walked into the house. She helped Kody get situated then came in the living room turning on the TV. We just chilled for a couple of hours until it's was time for me to head to the shop.
"I'm about to go to the shop. Kody can come with me while you stay here and rest."
"No, Dave I'm fine."
"It wasn't a question though. Give us a kiss, so we can be out." She rolled her eyes but did what I asked.
"Bye, Kodybear." She kissed him then hugged him tightly.
"Damn Kardi, he gone be back." I said laughing
"Shut up." She tried mushing my head but I grabbed her hand pulling her into me pecking her lips.
"Bye David." She kissed me one more time then pushed me towards the door.
"Bye, ma." We walked out the door.
Kody and I got buckled in pulling out the driveway. I turned on Mike Will Made-It -Gucci On My and Kody shocked me when he rapped YG part from beginning to end and blocked out the cuss words.
