She ran as fast as her legs would carrier her until she arrived in a highly populated and well lit up area.

Margaret had just hurt people. As self defense but she had still hurt people.

Why was everything so completely confusing? one day she's at home minding her own business with her family the next she's in New York in the FUTURE with supernatural powers, being attacked by random men.

Could it really get any worse?

A corner store came into view around the block from where she was standing. Making her way over she saw that it was, in fact, open and looking for some answers she entered.

"Hi" the cashier greeted, Margaret, returning the gesture.

She walked straight up to the counter attempting not to be fascinated by the many gadgets and foods that graced her eyes.

"Would you know of any place that I cloud stay?" She asked the acne-ridden teenager that was staring at her.

"Like a home?" He asked.

"Yes like a home" though Margaret took 'home' in the literal sense thinking she was literally going to get a house to stay in.

"There's one a few blocks away, go around the corner take three lefts and keep going straight the-"

But Margaret was already walking out the door. "Thanks!"

That was relatively easy. Maybe her struggles wouldn't last and she could get away from the violent and weird happenings.

She took the directions until she reached a tall brick building with about a billion windows. It towered over her and intimidated Margaret significantly.

Her head scanned the wide frame of the building every few seconds spotting light coming from one of the many windows. She knew that it was not just a house that she'd be able to stay in by herself there were obviously others inside.

Steps led to a wooden door with a brass doorbell. The door was massive it taking up about one-third of the ground levels front wall.

Margaret lifted her arms and began to violently bang the knocker against the large doorway. It swung upon introducing a pretty Latina woman in her mid-twenties, her hair tied in a tight bun atop her head.

"It's really early," She said sleepily rubbing her eyes an obvious accent present."What is it? A delivery?"

"Uh, no-someone said this was a home?" The redhead replied anxious to get into someplace warm.

The woman arms flopped to her side as she straightened her back.

"Oh yes, yes come on in."

Margaret followed the woman down a long hallway decorated by kid style murals and jackets hung in different places.

"My names Wendy, but the kids all call me Jackie." She answered though Margaret had not asked a question.

Wendy led Maggie up some carpeted staircase which led to a mass of door and bars guarding the opening to the stairs.

She opened a door which led into another large room though not as big as the one before.

Six beds scattered the living space, four being filled with sleeping occupants.

"This will be your bed," The woman said politely." I'll check on you in the morning and you can meet some of our residents but I'll let you get some rest first you look tired"

Wow. Everything was so quick. Margaret had gotten a place to sleep, food and company in the space of about twenty minutes. Appreciating the woman's kindness and possession of a bed she crawled under the sheets while Jackie stood watching her.

"Do you need anything? How long have you been on the streets you look pale"

Her hands and face were indeed pale but Margaret did not know if she needed anything. Truly she needed answers but how was she going to get answers when she could tell exactly tell people 'hey I'm from the past'

So she politely declined Wendy's offer thanking her for the place to sleep and curling into the warmth of the sheets around her as the slim woman walked out of the room.

Jackie closed the door gently as Margaret began to drop off to sleep.

Little did she know that in a few hours the news would be out and she wouldn't be safe.

~authors note~

Ok, not a very long chapter but here ya go lmao. I feel like I may be rushing these ones though I probably shouldn't eek. I'm just want to get into the Marvel stuff so badly.

At least we got a Lil bit of spicy in the last chapter. I'm going to a have a short casting chowder next for new characters that'll be kinda prominent through a few chapters

Anyway by and thanks for reading 🤘
