A figure sat beside a river. The blue tint of the water was so clear, you could see the beds underneath.
The scene was so perfectly positioned it seemed like everything was meant to be there. Lily pads held strong when frogs hopped from one to another as well as the odd tadpole or fish skimming the surface of the water.
An oak tree sat by the edge of the river as well as a girl, the trees long brown branches stretched like in a painting giving shade to whoever sat underneath.
The girl was crouched over the edge of the water inspecting her red hair at an arm's length. She held it out in front of her examining it as if it was entirely new to her.
A panicked look was building on the girls face causing her to look extremely sick. The look of panic turned into disgust as her eyes scanned her reflection in the water.
She stripped her eyes away from her reflection bringing them to the magnificent tree beside her.
The redhead crawled over slowly towards the oak tree, beginning to sob.
Her cry's caused the ravens that sat on the oak's branches to scatter. It caused the frogs to take refuge under the water. It caused the girl herself to cover her ears. It was such a cry that it in fact shook the very roots of the tree making it quiver under the pressure.
Her sobs became louder and louder and it seemed the girl was unable to stop herself. She started to scream. Like she was in agony, Absolute torture. Her panicked screams were a coping mechanism to whatever realization had just taken place. The thing was.....
They weren't working.
The Tree started to dissolve.
Then the sky and then the girl along with anything and all things surrounding her. An array of colours shone brightly, nearly blinding the girl who now understood what she was doing.
She tried to stop but it was too late.
~authors note~
So this chapter is short but it's a charmer. (Not really). I'm writing this book as a way to improve my writing over the summer so if you happen to see any mistakes or point out things that would sound better than how I've phrased them that would be helpful and highly appreciated. That is if this gets any reads. 😂
Bye
