Chapter twenty-four

Fluttershy's point of view

This can't be happening... this can't be happening... this can't be happening! I'm right in front of the one person I wanted to avoid at this party. I don't know what to do, I'm in so much shock I'm frozen stiff and it doesn't make it any better especially if the king won't stop staring at me in... awe?

I must be losing my mind but for some reason I just can't stop looking into his exotic eyes. They seem to shine a bit in the dim lights, but I could lose myself forever in them.

Discord's point of view

I can't believe it, the one person I wanted to see tonight was right in front of me. But I just became completely tongue tide! I can't seem to get any words out and I practiced so hard to be able to talk to her all evening before the ball. I just can't stop staring at her she just looks so... so...beautiful, as her eyes shown brightly in this dim light like stars while wearing a beautiful dress that looked lovely with her complexion.

I could stay like that forever, well until... we were somehow magically poofed into the center of the dance floor as a slow dance song was playing.

No one's point of view

Fluttershy and discord's staring contest soon broke as they finally broke out of their transes and realize what's going on. "Uh... would you like to dance?", discord asked awkwardly holding out his hand while fluttershy rubbed her arm nervously. But before she could answer she felt some unknown force push her into discord's arms as they soon began to dance to the slow song.

As they dance neither fluttershy or discord could stand to look into each other's eyes, as one didn't know what to say while the other had so much. But over time they began to loosen up and were able to stand to look at each other to a point where they both began to smile as the song quickened their movements did also.

Fluttershy's point of view

I don't know why or how I can be so calm, I'm dancing with the person that I should very much hate. And yet... this is the most comfortable I've been in a while. But I'm still filled with so many questions about my situation and don't exactly know how to feel about being here or about him. 

Discord's point of view

This is great! She's beginning to smile again, as I begin to smile also I start to realize that she must have many questions about her situation and how we'll go about this. So as the song finally ends I whisk her away to one of my balconies to have a little chat.
