Chapter 18- A happy Ending?

*Jacks Pov*

I rush over to Merida, Hiccup and Punzie with the others following behind. And when I am near them I hear Rapunzel singing a soft song.

"Flower gleam and glow,

Let your power shine,

Save what has been lost

Bring back what once was mine.

Heal what has been hurt,

Change the fates design,

Save what has been lost,

bring back what once was mine,

What once was... Mine."

She sang, and while she did her hair glowed so it was as bright as, well as bright as hair can get. She gently unwrapped her hair from Merida's stomach to reveal nothing there. Not even the slightest scratch or clue that there was a huge wound.

Merida sat up and hugged Rapunzel immediately.

"Thank You Punz, thank you so much! I thought I was going to die..." Merida started, letting Punzie go.

"I won't let that happen, especially if I can prevent it." Rapunzel said scooting back to allow Hiccup room to hug Red-head.

"So that's the great power your hair posses is it?" I ask as Punzie walks over.

"Mmhm" she agreed, staring into no where.

"Hey can I, tell you something?" I ask. Oh gosh, I can't believe I'm going to do this, focus Jack. Concentrate.

"Go ahead" she said, now looking up at me. Aww.

"I-um, come over here" I said as I gently grabbed her arm pulling her away from everyone. Hey, I'd like some privacy!

"Jack, what is it?" She questions as we stop a few metres from everyone else.

"Okay, well I'm just going to go right ahead and say it. I like you. Like, a lot." I say, immediately feeling like weight just lifted off my shoulders.

Oh god, oh no, she's not saying anything. I bet she doesn't like me back. Oh great! I've stuffed up this friendship. Good one Jack! God you're stupid!

"I mean, if you don't like me back, it's fine. I-" I began but got cut off.

"I like you too" she said. Wait, what?

"You do?"I ask and she just nodded in response. YES! SHE LIKES ME BACK! Okay, cool it Jack.

I hugged her, maybe a little too tightly. When we pulled apart I did what I waited a while to do. I kissed her. And it felt amazing!

"Hey lovebirds, if you're finished, we'd like to get out of here!" Hiccup yelled from where we left them. Goddammit Hiccup! We broke apart and I could see that there was a dark pink shade on her cheeks and I felt mine heat up a little too.

"We're coming..." I mumbled and started walking with Punzie towards the rest of them. Maybe I do get a happy ending. After all that time that I felt alone, I wasn't.

Once we were out of the dark North throws a snowglobe, destined to go to the North Pole. When we step through I felt... Free in a way.

I'm back with my family.

Sure we get tangled up sometimes, but we are brave like bears and we are strong like dragons. So whatever challenge we face, we will rise up to it.

Because we are the guardians of the world.

And we will protect it from any fear or darkness that threatens it.
