Chapter 5 "Letting Go"

Jeremey starts to call my name and I'm immediately frozen. " Hun someone is calling you." " I don't hear anyone , uh let's go to lunch" I pull Marcus into the car and we drive off. That was a little to close. " what was that about?" "Nothing Nothing at all I'm just really hungry and I took the day off to spend it with you ." At this point i'm lying through my teeth. I'm not sure who I want to be with but I couldn't tell Marcus the truth. It would be hard for him and he's a good guy. Marcus looked upset but didn't speak anymore and we drove
home instead. The car ride was silent, when we pulled in the driveway he got out. I drove off not saying anything and I called Jeremey. ' Hey i'm sorry about early that was my husband' ' So he doesn't know about us yet ? When will you tell him, i need you to myself.' 'it takes time to do these things.' ' just come over i miss you' I selfishly went over and texted Marcus i'll be staying with Aaliyah for the night. Once I got to his house he picked me up and carried me upstairs and I started to cry. All this was overwhelming but it felt so good to be here with him. We laid there for awhile and talked about the baby. I want a little girl and so does he. And the baby names are just so adorable " how about Asia or Monica." After talking for awhile i went to the bathroom to talk to Marcus but he wouldn't answer. I don't blame him I wouldn't want to talk to me right i'm not the most important thing in his life anymore. Then I got a text from Aaliyah, 'Girl you need to get over here NOW! Marcus is outside drunk banging on my door asking for you!' It finally came where I broke him. I left Jeremey in a rush and made it to Aaliyah's. "Marcus what are you doing !" " I-I-I just came to say sorry," " Marcus you need to get out of here, we can talk tomorrow your piss drunk! I'm going to call you an Uber" Moments later the Uber pulled up and he got in. "we can talk tomorrow Marcus, I love you." I did still love him but i'm not sure i'm in love  with him anymore. Don't get me wrong he's a wonderful husband, a great guy , and knows how to make me laugh but Jeremey helps me in ways Marcus hasn't for years. "Carrie what's happening with him , I thought you told him everything." I didn't want to lie to her but do i really have a choice. " I I did but obviously he's not taking it well." Of course she knows i'm lying but we walk inside and just have a much needed girls night. " i'm going to text Marcus to see if he made it home yet." She grabs my phone and sees that i'm texting Jeremey. " What the hell ! Are you trying to hurt Marcus some more. You use to be crazy about him but now look at you." I was mute for awhile and I had no excuse. "Carrie please tell me what's going on." " Look you know i'm pregnant but it's not with Marcus's baby . He told me that when we had sex for the first time in awhile...He used a condom" She looked disappointed and I can understand that. "When's the next appointment? and what about you having chlamydia?" "it's in two days and no but the doctor sent pills and i've been taking them so no need to worry." " Well i'm not going with you , you need to ask this Jeremey guy to go , how is taking the baby news if you told him." I explained i told him and that his thrilled. The night went on and we sat and talked about the old days . "Yea do you remember when Jack asked you the seventh grade prom and said no cause he ate weird." "Don't judge me."
Days later I went to my doctor appointment with Jeremey and I asked the doctor not to mention my condition. " Hi i'm your doctor, Dr. Lee. Ready to see your baby?" We nodded and she proceeded to show us our bundle of joy. " Would you like to know the gender?" We both agreed and I couldn't believe what's we were having.
