I don't even really watch anything Sam & Max, the characters were just in my dream.

Sam is the dog, Max is the rabbit.
Ok so in the dream, Sam was a normal dog with his same colors and Max was like an albino mink/weasel/something. They were strays. Max often rode on Sam's back because he didn't have long enough legs to keep up. And it took place in a city with a large park. The park had a LARGE field in the middle of it. Max also had this distinct chittering doing that was unique to him. These details will be important later.
I think they had to solve some kind of crime but I can't remember exactly what. They needed help, so they went to their contact, a private eye cat with gray fur and a bald tail. Her name was Rita. She looked kinda like an opossum. She had an owner who'd let her leave the apartment they lived in. She also had a companion, a large shaggy white dog with black spots. His name was Bruce or Bruno or something. He was a stray. They were implied to be romantically involved. She also had this team of pigeons who were her informants. Something happened and there was like a chase scene, I think involving Animal Control, and they ended up at the park.
There, they met this white pigeon, also named Sam, who offered to go along with them and help. Then, after a little while, there was ANOTHER chase scene, but this time it was involving a wildlife photographer, an unusual female pigeon, and her ex (another pigeon). The female pigeon said that she knew what they were looking for, and offered to help if they helped get rid of her ex. And so they did and she led them to the docks.
There, they found what they were looking for, but then there was yet ANOTHER chase scene, now somehow involving hot air balloons, but this time Max got knocked off Sam's back and into the ocean. The animals tried looking for him, but they couldn't find him.
Unbeknownst to them, Max had washed up near a different part of the docks, where he was found by this guy who looked like the Lorax, with an orange bald head and large blonde mustache/beard, and his pet platypus who was named Percy. Also the guy was implied to be gay in my dream. Max was alive, but had amnesia. The guy decided to adopt Max.
The next part of the dream took place after a couple month timeskip. Max still hasn't recovered his memories but he was living comfortably with the guy in an apartment with a view of the park. The guy was revealed to be a retired soccer player, and on that day after the timeskip was gonna meet up with a couple of his friends from his team in the park for a daytime fireworks show. He also was some kind of YouTuber and he got a bunch of comments on his videos saying that he should rename Percy into Perry. Idk why that detail was in the dream it just was.
On the way to the park, (it was walking distance) they took a different route than normal to meet up with the guy's friends, and Max started to get some memories back and got serious deja vu when they passed places of significance, like where he and Sam met up with Rita and Bruce or the alley where he and Sam used to live.
When they got to the park and the first firework went off Max got all his memories back and ran off, calling out for Sam, Rita, and Bruce, but it was a struggle to be heard above the fireworks. He started doing his chittering noise and he attracted the attention of Sam the pigeon, who was shocked to see that Max was alive.
Max asked what happened and Sam told him that they solved the case, but the animal team was heartbroken because they thought Max was dead. In the time between Max disappearing and him being found by Sam the pigeon, Bruce had been adopted by Rita's owner and Sam the dog had decided to retire from detective work and moved to live in the park. The Lorax guy and Percy caught up with Max right after Max told Sam the pigeon what had happened to him, then called after him to find the others and tell them he was alive.
When the fireworks show was nearly over and Max had been put in a ferret harness attached to a leash, he saw Rita and Bruce running over, as well their owner, who was wondering why his pets were running off. They greeted Max, he introduced them to Percy, but then was wondering where Sam was. Sam the pigeon then told Max that Sam had gotten an injury in one of his legs and now walked with a limp and couldn't go as fast as he used to.
Then Max saw Sam the dog before Sam saw Max, and he managed to yank the leash out of the Lorax guy's hand and ran over to Sam, tackle hugging him.
They expressed how much they'd missed each other, told each other what had happened to them, and Max jumped up onto Sam's back and went back over to the Lorax guy. The Lorax guy saw how much of friends they were and decided to adopt Sam too.
