-Chapter Ten-
Today is the day.
Today is the last day of school of my Junior Year.
I looked across the room to find Danielle grinning from ear to ear. Whoa, someone’s excited! Well, who isn’t excited on the last day of school?
Exactly.
Danielle turned her head towards me and pointed at the clock that was hanging directly above Dr. McGurgin’s desk. I looked at it. Only seven more seconds left!
The seven seconds that had passed by were absolutely dreadful. But, who cares? The bell just rang and summer break is now here!
When all the students started going crazy, I thought they were going to do a musical number like in High School Musical.
Aw. . . Too bad.
I hopped out of my seat, grabbing my bag off of the floor.
“Come on, Dani!” I called out over the wild students. Or are they animals?
Danielle ran over to the teacher and gave him a “noogie” on his hairless, shiny head. “From this point on, I’ll never have to see you again!” she told him, sticking her tongue out.
“Danielle Peters, do you want a detention?”
“You can’t give me one! The bell just rang and we’re all freed from prison!” She then started making faces at Dr. McGurgin and began to scream, and I quote, ‘Hallelujah’ as she pounded her fists in the air.
“Alex, please take this wild animal that you call a friend away from me. And please do not bring her back!”
Giving the burly man an apologetic smile, I took Dani by the elbow and pulled her out of his class room.
“Danielle, learn some self-control!” I yelled after we exited the room.
“Sorry, Alex. I just couldn’t contain my excitement. I had to let it out somehow!”
Rolling my eyes at her, I continued to drag her down the hall. “Come on, Dan. Let’s get home.”

“What’s up, my friend?” I asked Jake.
“I’m on my way home from school now.”
“I know. . . Not in any kind of creepy way, though.”
We were talking on the phone, to those of you who didn’t realize this yet.
