———Montell smoked another blunt as he sat in the dimly lit space near Katana's door. He found himself smoking every time he thought of Katana or pictured himself murdering her or her boyfriend. That being said, the amount of weed this nigga went through in a day is ridiculous.
Montell looked around as he repeated the cycle of inhaling from the blunt and exhaling the smoke. If anyone saw him, they would most likely call the police. If Katana lived in one of those upper-class neighborhoods, he would have most definitely been sitting in the back of a cop car right now with some random crime pinned on him because he looked "suspicious." He had a black hoodie on with the hood covering his head and had been sitting in the same spot for a while now. Luckily for him, this wasn't an upper-class neighborhood and the residents were used to seeing things that were so-called suspicious.
Montell turned his attention back towards Katana's apartment. The lights had gone out more than an hour ago, so Katana and Zion were either fast asleep or chilling. Reaching into the glove compartment, he pulled out his gun. He put out the blunt and stepped out of the car. He lightly shut the door before walking up the short set of steps. The sound of thunder could be heard rumbling in the distance as soon as Montell stepped onto the porch. He carefully opened the birdhouse and grabbed the spare key.
"Fake ass plants." Montell mumbled as he glanced down at the assortment of plastic plants that Katana used as porch decorations. He turned towards the door and unlocked it being careful to be as quiet as he possibly could. He peeked in and was glad to see that Zion was knocked out on the couch while some show played on the TV.
Montell walked in and softly pushed the door shut behind him. He stared at a snoring Zion. He kind of looked like somebody he's seen before. Montell didn't think for a minute before figuring out who Zion was.
After Malachi's death, one of Montell's friends had claimed they saw the whole thing. He said that even though there were four guys, the only one that had fired the shots was some dude called Black. The dude had a habit of lying so the words went in one ear and through the other. Then, Montell overheard other people talking about this Black character and his brother. Even though the reasons why seemed the differ, Montell knew for a fact that Black killed his brother. Ain't no way everybody lying. Somehow, Black managed to evade Montell. He had been pointed out to Montell once, but before Montell could walk over and give him a piece of his mind which brings us back to Zion. Who is Zion and what role does he play besides being the new boyfriend? Easy.
He's related to the guy that killed Montell's brother.
His resemblance to Black is uncanny. They could call each other twin and everybody would believe them. The phrase was "you look just like yo' damn daddy," but for Black and Zion it changed and there was no doubt he heard about how much he looked like his brother all the time. On top of that, the same day that Montell found out what Black looked like, he also saw a younger Zion with him. This was his first time seeing Zion up close and in all honesty, he had forgotten about him up until now.
Montell shook his head, knocking himself out of his thoughts. He never got his on Black but now he was standing in front of someone with direct ties to him.
"Take one of mine, and I'll take one of yours."
Montell took off his Timbs and his hoodie before taking silent steps to the kitchen. He looked in the drawers and grabbed the first knife he saw. A chef's knife.
Montell walked back into the living room and stood over Zion. He didn't need to take a second thought. He swung his arm down sending the knife into his victim's abdomen and immediately staining the white t-shirt a shade of crimson red. The first stab woke Zion up, but every stab after that slowly brought him closer to his death. Ask Montell how many times he stabbed Zion and he wouldn't be able to tell you but he would be able to tell you that it had to be more than twenty times. He knew where he had to stab Zion for him to die immediately, but he wanted him to suffer.
Montell smirked as he watched Zion struggle to breathe. He dropped the knife on the floor and headed towards Katana's room. Looking down at his hands, he saw that the blood that went flying during his stabbing spree had landed on his hands and most likely his face as well. He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and noticed the smeared blood that showed up in a new spot proving that he was right about the blood on his face.
By the time Montell looked up, he was standing in front of Katana's door. He sighed as he reached for the doorknob.
"Here goes nothing."
