Y/N's POV
"Alright, would the atomic radius of Boron be less than or greater than Neon?" Harry, my lab partner in Advanced Chem (Peter and Ned had already been partners for like, ever), still don't know what his last name is reads me the next question on the lab sheet we're supposed to fill out together.
Is this seriously advanced chemistry?
"Greater than, because Boron's in group IIIA, which is to the left of Neon which is in IIIVA, and atomic radii get smaller as you move to the right on the Periodic Table," I reply immediately. I mean, really, this is baby stuff. "Got anything harder for me?"
"Hold on a minute, Lost Girl, it's my turn now. Give me a hard one," he slides the lab sheet over to me. I look over the paper for the hardest one.
Nothing. Everything is so basic.
"Are you sure you can handle this kind of advanced material?"
"I'll do my best," he smirks. We both know this is an easy A.
"You asked for it. Explain the octet rule in your own words."
"Are you kidding me? That's really the hardest thing on there?" he snatches the sheet away from me.
"Hey!" I may have said that a little louder than I'd intended.
Everyone looks over at us.
Everyone except the one person that I actually care about seeing me.
Peter seemed out of it today. I talked to him a bit before English, but he flew out of the classroom and I found him whispering worriedly with Ned in the hall. I didn't bother them, though, and I saw Harry heading my way, so I left them to whatever they were talking about. I didn't notice he was in Chem with me until we walked into the same classroom and he didn't leave.
"Miss L/N, you're sharing your thoughts with your lab partner, not the entire class."
"Sorry Mr. Cobbwell," I smile at Harry, who's holding back laughter.
"Don't think I didn't notice you staring at Parker," Harry smirks at me, he and I are getting to be really good friends.
"What? I don't stare," I laugh nervously. Hopefully I concealed it better than I think I did.
"Oh please, I'm shocked he hasn't caught you yet."
"Keep your voice down, would you?"
"Why? Because you lo-" I smack my hand on top of his mouth. I do not need him to finish that sentence.
"Oh my gosh! Did you just lick me?" I whisper-yell at him.
"You didn't let me finish," that's his defense? Really?
"Dude, that's disgusting. And if you bring this up again, I tell MJ that you stare at her," I get up to go to the sink at the back of the lab.
"Ugh, fine. I won't say anything if you won't."
"Deal," I start heading towards the sink when I see Peter messing with something underneath his desk. He pushes it back into his drawer so quickly, I can't get a good look at it. Whatever it was, I don't think it was part of the lab sheet.
~Time Skip to Lunch Period~
I walk with Peter and Ned out of World History towards the lunch room, all three of us bemoaning the fact that we now have a 3-page essay on the impact the Sokovia Accords have on us personally. Due Monday. It's Friday now. Ugh. Don't you just love those teachers who think that their class is the only one you're taking?
