Jennifer smiled brightly at Lewis, as she opened her arms and wrapped herself around him, not caring about the family's exclamations and concerns. She then turned to me and tried to hug despite the distance between us. It was so amazing to see her so happy."BUT BUT BUT!"
"No WAY!"
"Are you two serious about this?"
"That's...wow."Each family member was shocked at our surprise, but Jennifer, she had this aura around her that then influenced everyone else to produce the same feeling of joy and excitement. "Thank god! It's so great to be in the same place with not one familiar face, but two!" she exclaimed.
I hummed in response, while my dear ruffled her hair once more. "Well, I've been thinking about studying photography, and Lewis plans to study engineering, the college offered us the scholarship," I responded. My dear grinned so wide, "Guess what, same dorms!" Jennie squealed in response, stopping herself from bouncing up and down.
The aura in the room shifted drastically to the way the future doctor expressed happiness. Before even a minute, her family smiled for us. It was warming, sweet.
"But your luggage! You guys came here through a motorcycle!" she shouts, concern spreading on her face.
Just then a limousine pulled up outside and honked loudly. Her mouth went open, shocked. "Well, Bia's father hired a little help," my dear laughed, grabbing my hand. I blush and smile, trying to hide my red face.
The dinner went on as usual, despite the shocking surprise still hanging on to the air. I did notice that Jennifer's mood was getting down as time passed on. It seemed that I was not only the one who noticed, since Mrs. Wilson turned to her, before standing and reaching out to her refrigerator. She brought out a well-frosted vanilla cake, with on top was written 'Good luck, Jennie!' in pink frosting. Jennifer's mood immediately jumped back up as she reached out for the cake. She laughed at the text, "Just me?"
Her mother laughed, "Well, how could I have known these two darlings would be joining you?"
I and Lewis locked eyes for a moment, before laughing with Jennifer and the rest of her family. Jane then stood up and pulled out a plastic bag with pink frosting from the same spot, "But we do have extra!"
Lewis grinned, "Aunt Ava! Give it to Bia! Her calligraphy is amazing!"
I turn red and begin to stutter as the pink frosting was handed to me, "O-Oh! Well, I-I don't know if there's any s-space available..."
Jennifer turned to me, "Go ahead, Bianca!"
I smiled and started to write on the vanilla cake, underneath the word Jennie, 'Lewis, and Bia.'
Justine smiled, seeing the elegance of my writing style, "It seems the guy doesn't lie." Lewis smiled, "Told ya!"
Just as soon as I've finished, Mr. Wilson started to cut the cake, into, rather uneven pieces. His wife started blabbering about how much effort she had done for the cake, and how he had cut it so slobbily. He laughed all the time as he gave out the slices of cake to everyone, who then started to munch on it.
The flavor was bright and light. Although I would have added a bit more acidity to it. The cake itself was soft yet velvety, and the buttercream and frosting were so smooth and the adequate amount of it was given to the cake to avoid any sort of dryness. I look at Jennifer who was smiling brightly, "Mom! This is so delicious! Thank you so much!"
I grin as well, "Yes, Mrs. Wilson. This is really good!"
The woman blushed and laughed, "Oh, thank you! Although it would be nice if Mr. Wilson ever her at least cut the cake proportionately. The man laughed, "Oh, hun! I think I did well at that!"
Jane, who realized she's been forgotten, then exclaimed, "I helped too, ya know!" Justice chuckled, "Please. You helped clean up the mess."
"Oooh," Lewis and Jennifer said in unison, teasing the youngest in the family. "H-Hey!" She screamed in annoyance.
Before we knew it, we finished dinner and were saying goodbye to Jennifer's family, after Lewis placed her luggage with ours.
Her little sister and father clung to her, crying so much. While her mother and older brother pat her gently on the back, she was laughing as a tear threatened to drip down her face. The family said goodbye to me and Lewis too.
..Her family is so amazing.
Lewis then opened the door for us and let her inside the white limousine. I follow, turning to her family one more time and waved. They waved back, then returned their gaze to their daughter. I smile warmly and get inside.
I look at Lewis, who then threw his motorcycle's keys to Justine, who frantically caught it. My dear winked at him, who then went inside the limousine as well. "Lewis, I am NOT doing the paperwork for your motor," the man said, about to throw the keys back to him, until Lewis closed the door, blocking the keys. He then slid the window down, and laughed, "Thanks, Justine!"
The driver then started the vehicle, and I see Jennifer looking behind us, watching her family wave at her. She waved back and suddenly, tears started splashing down. I turn to her, holding her arms and tried to soothe her down, "Calm down, hun..."
Lewis grabbed her hand and pat her on her back. He tucked a strand of her dark hair behind her ear. Her black eyes turned to his emerald ones, as he tried to gently wipe the tears from her face.
I stare at them. Lewis is... a good man. This is why I love you, my dear. Jennifer, you're so lucky to feel those emotions of sadness when you part with them. I'm sure they are crying with you.
Lewis notice my stare and smiled at me. He reached out to ruffle my hair, gently but enough to make a mess. He grabbed both me and Jennifer, hugging us both, "We're off to college, you two."
"What's more? Canada, here we come," I added.
Jennifer smiled and cleaned her face from any liquid shed by her eyes, "To a brighter future."
All three of us joined together and grinned, "To a brighter future!"
