My Love

Chapter 11

"Why aren't you hanging out with your friends today?" Aaron ask when I step back in our apartment.

"I don't know, I just want to stay at home." I replied.

"Alright kiddo, Andre is out with his girlfriend, I will be at work, Mum is also at work so take care." Aaron mess up my hair and left.

I let out a sigh and walk to my room.

My phone vibrated when I sat on my bed.

Eugene; hey Avery, where did you go? the girls r going off to a fashion show tonight so, if u want to hang just come over xx

I let out a sigh and put my phone aside.

I turn on the fan and lay on my bed.

I then shut my eyes, i hug the extra pillow tightly to my chest. 

"My hands are sweaty." 

"It's fine." He grabs my hands and interlocks it. 

Oh remember the time when he bought steaks and place it at my door step? 

I open my eyes and let out a groan. 

Eugene need to get out of my head. 

When I first saw you, you were on the floor. 

Your knees were bleeding. 

But I thought you were gorgeous. 

And then, I found out. 

And i still like you. 

I became your best friend, and I love you. 

And I really do love you.

Do you get what I mean? 

Avery, 

be my girlfriend. 

Ugh. 

I need books. 

And maybe steaks.

I head down to the bookstore where i work. My boss let me off for the summer, but I now have desperately nothing to do. 

 I step into the bookstore, "hey Martin." I greeted him. Martin work here with me, he always take the night shift but sometimes i do because he have dates. 

He's 19 years old, and he's gay. 

"Hey, I thought you were in LA." He gave me a hug, "yeah, we came back a few days ago." I say, looking at the comics. 

"So how did it went?" He ask, "it's not over yet, I don't want to say just yet." I replied. 

"Avery?" I turn around and faced Eugene, "Eugene." 

"What you doing here?" My heart pounded, "getting some comics for Erwin." He replies, looking away. 

"I messaged you, did you saw it?" He ask, I bite down my bottom lip and nodded in response. 

"Something wrong?" He ask, "nothing."

I need your hug.

"I gotta go, bye." I say awkwardly and turn around. "Avery!" Sam stood by the door, "hey!" I smiled slightly. 

"Come hang out with us." Zach says. 

"Erm, I-" 

"Aw come on, Evans." Travis says.

Then a police car drove by, "i hope that rapist is caught." My heart skipped a beat by Martin's words. 

"What do you mean?" I ask. 

"There has been so many case of raping in that park, they haven't caught the person yet. The women are in danger!" Martin responded. 

Eugene look at me, "oh." I mumbled at Martin's reply. 

"Come on, Avs! We're gonna get ice-cream!" Zach swing his arm around my neck. 

"Eugene messaged you, didn't you got it?" He questions. 

"I got it, I needed some time to myself." I mumbled, "it's okay, we understand." He ruffles my hair. 

"Thank you."

"Hey Nathan!" Erwin tip the bottom of Nathan's ice cream cone, "hey!" Nathan frown at him. I let out a laugh, "here." I pass him a piece of tissue. 

her laugh is adorable. 

"So Evans, you want to play a game of soccer?" Zach ask, "sounds like a good idea but-"

"No buts! Let's go!"

"Why are you avoiding the Hunter brothers lately?" Sam ask as we walk to the soccer field. "I don't know. I just find it kinda awkward I guess." I mumbled. 

"What do you mean- Oh no, you kissed Erwin." Sam groans, "Avs, I've been warning you about Eugene ever since you guys started seeing each other and then I see how happy you are with each other, but right now, your heart is breaking over Eugene and apparently went for his brother." 

"It was kinda of unexpected, Sam." I say, "unexpected what?" Zach joins in. 

"Nothing." I say, "Evans, you're so weird lately." Zach stated. 

"Probably because she hasn't have a steak in a while." Nathan says jokingly. 

"Yeah, I miss having a steak." I admitted. 

"Avery, heads up!" Erwin shouted, the ball was kick high and and it hit Eugene's head who isn't paying attention at all. 

I bite down my bottom lip to refrain myself from laughing. 

"Oops." Erwin mutters. "Screw you." Eugene kicks the ball back to him. "Okay, I want Avery on my team." Zach says. 

"Aw man." Nathan mutters.

After a very long game, we decide to rest. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine!" Eugene started singing. 

"You make me happy, when the skies are grey!" Eugene and Zach then sings together. "You guys sound so horrible, so please don't ever sing again." Sam says, singing in the same tone as them. 

I laugh, "that was funny." I stated. 

My phone vibrated. 

Mia; you better not be there, when I come back at 8. 

It's 7.55pm. Oh steaks. 

"Erm guys, i gotta go." I say to them. "What?" 

"Yeah, I will see you guys tomorrow." I stated. "Avs, there's a rapist out there." Sam then says. 

Oh steaks. 

"I will be fine," I assured. "Eugene will send you home." Zach says. 

"No, no, no, I can go home by myself." I say, my heartbeat suddenly quicken. 

"Come on." Eugene grabs my wrist.

We walk slowly back to my apartment, it's so awkward. And the stars are out, it's so pretty. "Are you avoiding us lately?" Eugene spoken up. 

"What do you mean? I just hung out with you guys a while ago." I say. 

"Avery, you were dragged along. What's going on?" He ask. 

If only you weren't engaged. 

"It's nothing, I just need some time." I simply say. 

Avery, I want you to know that i am still in love with you but I can't.
