Solar Beginnings

Chapter 1

18 Years Later

Summer awoke with a start, expecting something, or rather someone, to be there. When he realized who he was looking for wasn't there, he calmed his breathing and sighed. She's still gone. And she isn't coming back. He didn't know why, but Sunburst didn't tell him about Sunset leaving until around a year ago.

He left his room and headed down to the kitchen, hoping to find his father waiting for him. However, upon entering, he found the room to be enpty. So, he's still working. Figures. It seemed like all his father did was work. Work on a new spell. Day in and day out. Summer couldn't even do magic! What did his dad plan to do, teach him something he couldn't do himself? He decided he'd eat out, so he grabbed some bits and left, calling goodbye to his father downstairs. He smiled when he heard Sunburst yell back. "Goodbye, son! See you later!"

Stepping out into the streets of Canterlot, he glanced around until he noticed a pony he sort of recognized. He hadnt necessarily talked to her much, but he knew her name. He trotted over to her. "Hi Bluebell! How are you today?" She turned around and gave a little smirk.

"I'm doing good. How are you Summer?"

"Eh. Not bad."

He watched as she turned and started to walk away, and caught up to her. "Where are you off to?" He asked.

"The castle. Why? You don't plan to tag along, do you?" She questioned.

"No. I just don't really have much else to do, so if you had been going somewhere i could come with, i probably would've." He admitted.

She smirked again. "Alright. Well, it's not like what I'm doing will take all day. How about when I'm done, I meet you here? Then we can go do something? Get to know each other a little bit?"

He smiled. "Sounds like a plan, Blue!"

She grew a curious look on her face. "Blue? That what you're gonna call me?"

"Sometimes I might. Other times I might not. You'll never know until i do." He told her, his eyes gleaming.

She giggled. "Alright. Well, see ya Summie."

"See ya!"
