"Nandini please" I said running around her in the house behind her.
"No no no" She shouted hiding behind dad as he came.
"Aree aree kya kar rhe ho bacho" Dad asked.
"Dekhiye na dad, Nandini phone nai de rhi" I complained.
"Beta" Dad tried to tell Nandini something.
"Mein kabhi kabhi toh inhe bolti huh dad ki mat jao office yaa kahi bahar chalte hai ya kuch woh bhi inko nai sunna hai" Nandini said cutting him off.
"Nandini mein nahi le sakta day off aese baba,kal bhi nai gaya tha na maine.
Kal parso mein free tha,
Tum free nai thi" I reasoned.
I could see dad going leaving us alone.
"Manik" She said sadly as I again taunted her with Nilay thing.
I was not over it yet.
We needed to talk about it.
"Jaiye" She said and threw the phone on sofa.
"Don't show this attitude to me Mrs.Malhotra" I said picking up the phone.
"What about the attitude you're showing me" She said.
"What attitude did I show you" I asked.
"These taunts about Nilay thing" She said and I went out without replying anything.

He's over doing it now.
After yesterday's conversation I thought we were okay.
Sirf shopping jaane ko toh bola tha,
Usme bhi problem.
Abb toh mein wahi karungi jisse unhe problem hai.
Nilay ke saath jaungi shopping.
I messaged Nilay and in no time he was outside my doorstep to pick me up.

Shayad kuch zyada hi daat diya kya usse maine.
2 baj gye hai,
Koi phone nahi koi message nahi.
"Sorry for the morning incident,
Let's go shopping,
I'll pick you up around 4:30-5" I messaged her.
I waited for sometime but there was no reply from her side.
It was 3:30 now.
For Nandini to not touch her phone for 1.5 hours is impossible.
I called her but her phone said switched off.
This alarmed me.
"Nandini ko phone dijiye na kaka" I said as I called on our landline.
"Nandini bitiya toh tum gaye uske thode time baad hi chali gyi thi beta" Kaka said.
Ohhgodd yeh ladki.
"Thik hai kaka,woh aaye toh mujhe call karna" I said.
Abb kya karuuu
Nandini ke parents ko call karta huh,
Haa.
"Hello maa,
Manik here,
Nandini hai kya wahan?!" I asked impatiently.
"Nahi beta, Nandini nahi hai yahan kyun kya huaa" Maa asked.
"Kuch nahi ma woh uska phone switched off aa raha hai aur ghar par bhi nahi hai" I said
"Aree woh Nilay ke saath kahi gayi hogi beta,kyunki woh bhi subah se ghar pe nahi hai" She said.
Fuckkkkkkkk.
That guy.
"Uska number hoga ma aapke paas" I asked.
"Beta woh toh US se aaya hai na toh yahan ka sim card nai liya hai usne abhi tak toh uske paas toh phone nai hoga,aa jayenge beta don't worry" She comforted me.
"Ji ma" I said and cut the phone.
This is heights of being irresponsible.
Mujhe kya,
Jab usse hi nai padi toh.
Sahi bola maa ne.
Aa jayegi.
"Sir clients aa gaye hai,
Meeting ke liye we have to go" My assistant said.
I nodded and went for the meeting.

It was 6:00pm now.
Still no messages or call from Nandini.
Her phone was still switched off.
I reached home and called kaka.
"Kaka Nandini abhi tak nahi aayi" I asked him
"Nahi beta" He said.
I saw both our parents sitting in the garden.
"Nandini ka kuch pata chala" I asked the four of them.
"Aa jayegi beta,
Woh aur Nilay ka aesa hi hai. Unko time ka pata hi chalta" Papa said.
Par Nilay ko pata hona chahiye ki Nandini abb kisiki wife hai.
Fab5 ko bhi nai pata hoga because they're all in Delhi for a deal.
"Subah se gyi hai woh aur abhi tak switched off hi aa raha hai uska phone" I said dialling her number for nth time.
"Haa abb toh bohot time ho gaya phir toh" Papa said.
"Woh shopping ka bol rhi thi na" Dad said.
"Haa toh woh jiss mall mein jati hai na wahan ke ek shopkeeper ka number hai mere paas,mein try karta huh" Papa said trying to call.
"Haa dineshbhai, Nandini aayi thi kya wahan" Papa said putting phone on speaker.
"Haa bhaisahab,yahi hai woh
Abhi abhi aayi" He said.
"Unhe dijiye na phone please" I said.
"Haa beta ek second" He said.
"Hello" Nandini said.
I sighed.
Finally,her voice.
Damn,
This felt like eternity.
"Come home" I said calmly not having the strength to shout on her.
"Manik?!" she questioned.
"I said come home Nandini" I said a little angrily.
"Yaa I'm coming Manik par"
"Come home, right now" I said cutting her off and kept the phone after that.
"She's fine" Mom whispered hugging me from the back.
"I'm not" I replied.
