The Prompt: Person 1 is an immortal being of some kind and Person 2 is a mortal. Person 2 wants to become immortal and be with Person 1 forever, but Person 1 wants to relinquish their mortality and live a normal life with Person 2.

Veronica sighed as she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes, as the typical topic of conversation struck up, again.
"But seriously! Just imagine it, Ronnie! You and me, immortals! Experiencing the world head on as it changes!" Laurance was overly enthusiastic about being immortal. As soon as he found out Veronica was immortal, like her father, Laurance wanted to become immortal aswell, so he and Veronica could be together forever. They'd never grow old, never die, and would just see the world. Laurance had been nagging about it for what felt like years, even though it had only been a few days.
"What about Garroth? Dante? Cadenza? Aphmau? You'd be leaving them behind, Laurance. You would eventually have to watch them grow old and die, and you'd have to deal with that trauma forever. That's what happened to my father when my mother died."
"But, my love," Laurance stated, a hint of pain in his voice. ",you're going to see me die and grow old if we don't do this." Laurance stated. Veronica sighed, rubbing her temples.
"Please, Laurance. Stop with this."
"Veronica, I just-"
"Here's an idea I had," Veronica started, really not wanting to hear him protest. "Maybe if I can find a way to relinquish my mortality, we can both live a normal life together. Live and die with our best friends, grow old together, start a family. You know, stuff mortals do." Veronica stated calmly. The truth was, Lucinda, the village witch, knew of a potion to get Veronica her mortality back, and they had made a plan to meet up one night so Lucinda could get her the potion. She had wanted to talk to Laurance about it but had no idea how to bring it up. Laurance looked at her with a confused look on his face.
"What are you talking about?" He asked. She sighed.
"Laurance... I want to be a mortal. I want to live a normal life with you. I want to grow old with you. Lucinda knows of a potion that can help me relinquish my mortality. She's going to give me a normal life, Laur. Like I've always wanted," She grabbed his hand and held it tight. "Like what we've wanted."
Laurance smiled at her, grabbing her and pulling her into a tight hug, the thought of becoming immortal leaving his mind entirely. He smiled into her shoulder, her hair entangled in his hands. Everything felt right in the world. They were going to have a normal life. They were going to have kids and experience the world in the time they had, and Laurance didn't even argue back about her risking her immortality for him. They were going to be together until the end, and there was nothing either of them wanted more than that.
