It was a couple weeks later, Zim and Dib had kept going to school together and as well as continuing there training. It was starting to turn warmer outside, though all it did is rain. It would scare Zim though Dib always had an umbrella. This night it was raining like usual, and Zim was in the basement working on the ship. He was specifically working on the communications when it turned bright green instead of red. Zim gasped and bounced in excitement as he shouts "It's working, It's working!!" He ran out of the basement and charged to Dib's room. He barged in the room, making a Dib on his computer doing research while eating some ramen, scream and fall back. Zim wince seeing him hit the ground "O-Oooh! The great Zim did not mean to scare you. I'm still use to door opening automatically." Dib sat up with a groan, rubbing the top of his head. He giggled looking to the tiny alien "It's okay you're still new to humans ways. What did you need?" He got up, his ramen on the ground. He pouts as he looks to it "I was gonna eat that" Zim smiled and covered his mouth to hold back a giggle. "Come on, The great Zim has something to show you!!" Dib got up as they headed to the basement

Zim walked up to the machine and clicked on one green button out of the thousands of buttons. It pulled up a list of names, mostly five. Dib gasped as he looked it over "What... what is this?" Zim grew a large smile as he turned to the screen "My communicator is working, It means if you like you could finally meet the tallest" Dibs eyes widened and he began bouncing up and down screaming like a little human girl. "OH, MY GHOST!!!! I-I get to meet your leaders!!" Zim smirked "Yes yes! Here I'll call them, go hide over there. When I give you the signal you'll come closer okay?" Dib nods his head with utter glee as he rushes and heads behind some boxes giggling. Zim smirked as he activated the call. It took only a moment or two for the call to be answered. It showed to large Irkens, one in red, one in purple. They were staring at the screen with a dark look. "Hello, my tallest!!! It is me!! The Great Zim!!" He saluted, standing with the biggest smile he had, excited above all else. Dib peered his head around, giving a soft smile seeing Zim so excited. He couldn't help but admit he was kinda cute, though that thought left once seeing the tall leaders "... wow..." He whispered soft enough to not be heard. The tallest was silent for a bit then looked to each other with a look of confusion. The purple one turned to yell to one of the many other irken's working around them "Hey! Why isn't the video or audio for this transmission coming through?!" Zim looked sad then groaned "Darn, I guess I didn't fully fix the communications device. "It's probably just feedback from the ship or a damaged communicator. Would you like us to hack into the ship to see what is wrong?" The two shared a soft chuckle, as the one in red shook their head "No need. Knowing Zim the ship is probably giving feedback after he crashed it, I hope" The two snorted and laughed as Zim's antennas drop as he grows a confused look on his face "M... My tallest?" The two laughed as the red one wiped his tear out of his eye from laughing "Haha might be the easiest way to get rid of that defective Irken." The purple one smirks to him "You think he'd gotten the hint that we didn't want him when we sent him to Food Courta, but NOOOO he just had to come back and almost ruin the invasion! The plan almost went horribly wrong. I'm glad you tricked that idiot into thinking he could conquer that planet." Zim gripped the bottom of his uniform as he looked to the screen with wide eyes. Purple tears filling his eyes but He refused to cry, he was better than that, he was the great Zim. Red turned to one of the workers with a sly smile as he spoke out "End this call" The screen went black, the room fully silent.

Zim stood there stiff with shaking hands, gripping the bottom of his uniform holding back tears. There were so many thoughts running through his head a mile a minute. No time to cling onto one thought before another shoved it away. "Defect? They didn't want me to be here? They banned me? They wanted me dead? When did I become a Defect? The great Zim can't be a defect" Though soon his thoughts were wiped blank when heard a box fall to the ground. His antennas popped up fast and he turned fast on his heels, the light of the screen going around him, covering Zim's face in the shadows of the room. Zim was now facing the back of Dib. Dib stood there silent, his hand gripping a box so hard if he was a little stronger it would shatter like glass. Up to that moment Zim had forgotten Dib was there, hearing everything. ".. D.... Dib I-" "Don't say anything..." Dib said with the most serious voice Zim has ever heard from him. Dib took his hand off the slightly cracked box and turned to Zim. His eyes held many emotions. The main ones were angry and hurt. This is was the tipping point as the tears slid down Zim's face. One thing to be called a failure, another to see such a look from the only person who was nice to you. "... I thought we were friends... you were using me?" Zim didn't know what to say, his throat tightening up as his head buzzed with words. Dib glared at him and began slowly moving closer as he talked "Say it... Say you were using me. Whether you say it or not I know you did. Picked at my brain to learn of my planet just to conquer it? Used my dad's lab to build your ship to tell your leaders to hurry up? I just... I just don't understand. Those things aren't the parts that make me this mad... no no no..." Dib stood straight in front of him, Glaring down at him. If looks could kill Zim would be dead. "...why were you nice to me? Why... Why did you help me get strong, and teach me your culture, hell you saved me from a bully!! Why would you do that if you were just going to imprison me?!" Zim looked down, unable to say anything, never having cried before and felt impossible to speak. Dib stood there, fists clenched as he has his eyes closed "... leave...." Zim looked up to him shocked, seeing Dib have his eyes clenched closed, his fists shaking "... I can't do it... Even though I'm so mad you've been my first real friend and the first person to not call me weird... just go... before I change my mind" Zim looked at him as tears ran down his face. He pulled out his mechanical spider legs and ran out of the ship. He lifted the garage door and ran out of the garage. It was pouring rain but that didn't stop Zim, he knew he could never go back to possibly his only friend.
