It has been a couple of months since Zims revealed his original intentions. It was awkward at first but they've grown since then. Now that Zim didn't need to worry about invading the planet his days are open to learning more about the earth. Even possibly finding a way to get back into space someday. He at the moment he was sitting in the kitchen in his disguise for school with the Gaz and Dib. Luckily Gir was having a post-waffle mukbang nap. No one really knew how the robot could eat so many waffles but no one wanted to ask. The three relaxed until the front door opened and closed quickly followed by heavy boots. Zim got guarded as Dib and Gaz looked at each other "It's not..." "He is never home" The Dib pulls Zim back into his seat as walking through the kitchen doorway was a large man with familiar scythed hair, deep goggles, and a lab coat that almost was a gown. From within the lab coat boomed out "Hello Children!!!" The two siblings freeze, their father was home.
Dib was about to speak when he was cut off by his father coming to the table looking to Zim, who luckily had his disguise up "Who are you in my home?" Before Dib could speak Dib smacked a hand over his mouth "This is Zim dad! He's uh... uh..." Gaz calmly speaks from her game "Exchange student. He's been sharing Dibs room" Their father hummed as his black leather gloves squeaked while putting his hand where his chin would be if it wasn't covered "Odd... I don't remember your school calling me about this. Or signing anything on this" Gaz once again calmly said "You don't get the school's calls, there on the waitlist. Also, you sign tons of paper, you probably just signed it not knowing" The dad let out an "Oooh! I see... so Zim where are you from?" The father sat down at the table with Dib going to pipe in again "Dib please stop cutting off our guest" Dib shut up and looked to Zim who was trying to use the best of the knowledge he had collected. Going to this skool isn't much of anything. ".... Europe?" The father sat there before giving a smile "Makes sense! I am Professor Membrane!!! Also Dib's and Gaz's father." Zim made an "Ooooh" expression as Gaz got up and walked to the door grabbing her school bag. Dib pulled Zim along quickly following her "W-We gotta go Dad! School and all you know" Their father watched from the kitchen as they scurried away "Oh okay! Gaz think of what you want for dinner it's your night tonight!" Gaz froze as for once her eyes got big and filled with stars, as well as pigs and pizza. Zim looked worried at the sight but Dib just groaned "She gets like this every time it's her turn, just don't look it's okay" The three started towards school now waiting for the dinner that felt more like a trial to Zim. If he does something wrong he could get discovered by Dib's dad, a head scientist of all things!!
Soon they were home from school, Zim and Dib having finished their homework in no time were now both watching a nature documentary at Zim's request. Zim had a pillow on his lap, resting his elbows on them as his small taloned hands rested on his face. Dib was resting back against the sofa as they both were dressed and waiting to go out. He was supposed to be watching the show but he couldn't help but look at Zim, seeing the fascination in his eyes as it explained on the screen how the animals lived day today. Dib felt as if such a gaze he shouldn't look at such a gaze, but can't help a small smile grow seeing the joy on Zim's face. Zim's fascination and little mumbles as he studied the screen. Dib felt his chest tighten looking at the fake eyes and felt he had to look elsewhere. He looked at Zim's fake hair knowing the antennas were underneath. He knew the antennas worked like ears for Irkens but part of him wondered if it's texture. Would it be smooth? Maybe a little fuzzy. The thoughts swelling up until he noticed his hand extended towards Zim's hand. He would have touched his antenna if not hearing a pair of heavy boots and light boots come into the room. He quickly pulls his hand back as he turns to his father and sister "So your sister has decided on Bloaty's Pizza Hog. So to the car we got!" Zim grumbles as Gaz turns off the tv "I was watching that" Dib gave a gentle smile as he rested his hands on Zim's shoulders "Don't worry, We can watch it once home. We should get going before Gaz starts threatening us immediate harm" That said Gaz glared at the two, arms crossed. The gaze was so hot you thought it would have burned her bangs. The two boys not wanting to die that evening quickly walked out the door, Zim putting a hand where Dib touched his shoulder, thinking of the warmth from it and having an odd feeling. Maybe... missing the contact? He ignored it and focused on his main mission: Have a normal human dinner with the sibling's scientist father. What could go wrong?
(Also as a thank you to everyone who has loved this after all this time, I decided to re-draw Zim's human disguise! Hope you all like it! )
