Locked inside his room, Jimin had the time to really think about the argument between Taehyung and Jungkook. The couple rarely fought, so he knew that it would take them awhile to get over something as severe as this.
Jimin can't get the look of hurt on Jungkook's face out of his head. There was a type of pain there that he knew wouldn't be fixed by a simple sorry on Taehyung's part. Taehyung had taken away a right of his. The youngest member of their friend group had tears of absolute betrayal streaming down his face, as though he had lost something so precious to him, something he didn't even know had existed until this afternoon.
The pregnant male pictured Yoongi being in the same position as Jungkook, clueless to the fact that there was even a baby at all, then to be told that it was thrown away without him ever knowing. Jimin never wants to see that same face on Yoongi. It would destroy him. How Taehyung lived with that guilt for so long, Jimin is unsure. He must have been living in agony for quite some time.
All Jimin has wanted this entire time was for Yoongi to live in happiness.
He finally let his hand rest on his stomach for the first time as he laid in bed, thinking about the older. He closed his eyes and let his memories consume him.
He opened his eyes, observing the beautiful afternoon sky full of springtime birds fluttering about. The weather was perfect, and the sun poked through the clouds, blinding him a bit. He turned his head to the side and saw his best friend laying there beside him and smiled.
They were both breathing hard after playing an intense game of tag, but they didn't mind just laying here for a bit. The slight breeze was nice. The sky was so pretty during this time of year. The sun was going to set before too long, so there was pretty pinks and orange hues mixed with the blues, but that also meant they were going to have to go inside before too long. Jimin didn't want to go back home yet. He wanted to keep playing with Yoongi. The seven year old started to jut his lip out in a pout at the thought.
Yoongi turned and saw the sad puppy look on his best friend's face. The eight year old, reached over and grabbed Jimin's hand, interlocking their fingers. "Don't be sad Jiminie, we can always play some more tomorrow" he reassured the younger, flashing his precious gummy smile.
This was their routine. They were next door neighbors, so every day, after grade school, the pair would run outside together, playing super heroes or cowboys. They were inseparable.
Jimin turned over, facing Yoongi, placing both his chubby little hands on the older's cheeks, squishing them together. "Yoonie's smile is sooo pwetty" he declared and giggled. Younger Jimin was more bold.
Yoongi visably blushed at the compliment, and pinched one of Jimin's chubby cheeks between his fingers. "Jiminie's smile is much prettier than hyungs" he admitted.
Jimin's face turned a dark shade of red, as he smacked Yoongi's hand away from his face. Yoongi chuckled as he started to tickle the younger. The two rolled around in the grass giggling until their clothes earned more grass stains and their mothers called them to come back inside for dinner.
