One More Chance (16+) (Teukchul)

July 10, 2003 Pt. 3

Leeteuk's POV 

I swallowed hard as Hyukjae slowly turned to face me. His wide eyes just made me all the more nervous, but if I don't tell him then he'll walk out on Shay. I can't let that happen. 

"What did you just say?" He said in, what was practically, a whisper. 

"Shay's pregnant, Hyukjae." He then closed his eyes, and sighed deeply. 

"How long have you known?" He asked weakly. 

"A few days. I was with Shay when she found out." Hyukjae then looked over at Shay with a sad expression. 

"Was this the big secret? Tell me the truth Shay." She then looked at him with eyes full of tears. 

"No. It was a secret, yes, but it's not the big one." She answered weakly. He then sighed, and walked towards her. He then took a seat beside her. 

"Please Shay. It's not just us at stake anymore. I want to know especially if its life or death. I wanna know what to expect." He said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "Baby, please tell me. Please. For me, for our child, but above all for us. I can tell this secret is killing you, and all that stress isn't good for our baby." He then placed his free hand on her stomach. She then looked at him with teary eyes. 

"I'm afraid, Hyukkie. This is secret was hard for me to handle, if it was hard on me there's no telling how hard it'll be for you." He then kissed her cheek softly. 

"I know I was being pushy, and I had no right to threaten you. But Shay I can't watch this tear you apart anymore." Shay then looked over at me. I then nodded, and she sighed to herself. 

"Leeteuk isn't from our time. He's from a year in the future." Hyukjae's eyes widened. 

"Seriously?" He asked, and Shay nodded. 

"There's more." She then took a deep breath. "Leeteuk came back to save us." 

"Save us from what?" He asked carefully. 

"Death." Hyukjae's eyes were like the size of saucers upon hearing that. "Hee-Jin and I are supposed to die in a car crash today. Then 2 months later Heechul slits his wrists in the bathtub, of what used to be, our old home. But before Heechul, you commit suicide, and overdose on sleeping pills." Hyukjae then tightened his grip on Shay's shoulders, as though his life depended on holding her. 

"You're serious?" He asked in a faint whisper. 

"Yes, Hyukkie. I'm serious. I was so afraid to tell you, because I knew it would hurt you. Especially since you know that I'm pregnant." He then swallows hard. 

"So when you died..." 

"The baby died with me." She finished, and the Hyukjae began to stare at her stomach. 

"This is why you came back?" Hyukjae asked as he looked up at me with tear fulled eyes. 

"Yes." 

"You can fix this?" 

"I'm trying to." 

"Good. Please don't give up." He begged. I then gave him a sad smile as a single tear fell from my eye. 

"I won't. I promise."
