Jude
R: Now that I'm thinking about it, can I get your advice on something?
J: sure! What is it?
I'd rather tell you in person.
okay, see you later!
End of texts
Panic-
What could it be?
It's probably advice on how to study or something.
Ryan
Well, there's no going back now.
Just say it.
How did you know you were gay?
It's not that hard!
I walk into the bathroom, seeing Jude just sitting on the floor with his phone.
"Hey, stranger!"
"Oh, hi! Thanks for scaring me half to death!" He said sarcastically.
"You're welcome."
"What was it you needed advice on?"
Getting straight to the point, huh.
"Uh..." I reply.
Nope. I can't do it! Abort mission!
"This sounds really stupid, but how do you study?"
Jude
Called it.
"Well, if you want we can study together later."
"I'd like that."
What is it about those three words?
I snap back into reality and hear Ryan in the middle of a sentence.
"-I suck at math, so we should probably focus on that. Cool?"
"Yeah, also, we should probably get out of here."
"Yeah, I guess we should."
I walk straight into him like an idiot.
I look up at Ryan. We're so close, if we were any closer, our lips would be touching.
He doesn't say anything, and neither do I. I take this time to admire his features.
Has that mole always been there?
Wow, his eyes literally sparkle.
His lips look so soft.
"Oh, uh, I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." I say after I snap out of the trance-like state I was put in.
"It's alright." He smiles.
We walk out in silence. Not the awkward kind, it's calming, and it gives me time to think.

"Isn't it weird that all the 11th-grade teachers are older?" I say, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, now that I think about it."
"I just hope they retire before we have them next year."
"Same. Old teachers are always the worst."
"Remember Mrs. Sith from last year?"
"Yes! She was the worst teacher on the planet."
"The only good thing is we didn't do much in class."
"That was only because we always had a truckload of homework."
"True."
Suddenly, we hear a door open in the distance.
"Was that a door?"
"Yeah, we should go."
Then, we ran. Well, it was more like a speed walk.
It may not seem like a big deal, but not only were they not where they're supposed to be, the school has a very strict rule about going straight to your homeroom in the mornings. Had they stayed, they would've got detention for at least a week.
They made it into their hallway just as their fellow sophomores walk in.
