"...but I don't think I'm straight."

--

Jude

"Do you think you're gay?" I reply, my anxiety shifting.

"No, I like girls," He pauses, "but I think I also like guys. Is there... something for that?" He continues, clearly not knowing much.

"Yeah," I say, a little too excited, "Bi, pan, poly... you get the idea."

Ryan

As we're approaching my house, I see my mom standing outside the door.

"Hi, Ryan, uh, How was your day?" She asked, standing in front of the door suspiciously.

"Uh, fine? Why are you blocking the door?" I ask, confused.

"I have a surprise for you!" She says rather quickly, moving out of the way.

I shoot Jude a look of confusion and get a similar look back.

I open the door and see...

My sister?

"Ally!" I run and hug her. "What are you doing here?"

"Our spring break is earlier than yours."

I punch her lightly on the shoulder, "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I wanted to, but mom insisted on it being a surprise."

I glare at my mom.

"Whatever, I'm just glad you're here!" I hug her again.

Jude

"I'll be right back," Ryan says after a while of catching up, and makes his way to his room.

"So," Ally starts once Ryan's gone, "How long have you had a crush on Ryan?"

"What-"

"Don't lie. Your face goes red every time he smiles and your laugh has a whole different sound when it's him telling the jokes. How long?"

"Alright, calm down it hasn't been long."

Ryan

"What's taking the dork so long?" I hear Ally say as I'm waking down the stairs.

"Speak of the devil!" Jude says after he sees me, "Dinners almost ready. What were you doing up there?"

"I had to turn in an assignment before I forgot." I lie.

I know they're accepting, but I don't wanna tell them yet. I'm still not sure.

"Can one of you come to set the table?" Mom says from the kitchen.

We look at each other, all thinking of the same thing, and as if on cue, "Rock, paper, scissors!" I win, and Ally loses, like always.

"No fair, you always win!" Ally whined, walking towards the dining room.

"It's your fault for always picking scissors!" I reply laughing.

--

"Jude, are you awake?" I ask, not being able to sleep.

"Yeah."

"Remember earlier when I said I had to finish an assignment? I lied. This is gonna sound super stupid, but I was doing research. I think I'm omnisexual."

To say I was a ball of anxiety, would be an understatement, but I knew it was for no reason.

Jude

"Ok. Just know if you have any questions you can ask me, and remember it's okay to change your label," I replied, trying to keep my cool.

"Thank you. That means a lot."

"Goodnight Ryan."

"Goodnight Jude."

As soon as those words leave his mouth, I grab my phone and text Annita.

"The open mic night is in a few days, are you excited?" Ryan's mom said with her mouth partially full.

Ryan almost chokes on his food, "It is?"

"Have you even picked a song yet?" I say, half-joking.

"Yes, I have, I'm not that irresponsible. I just... haven't learned the lyrics yet... or the piano chords."

"Ryan!"

"I know, I know. I'll learn the lyrics today," Ryan said as I tried not to laugh.

"Whatever, it's time to go anyway," Ryan's mom said, changing the subject.
