Let us all now know about the HISTORY OF KARBALA. Already mentioned, Imam Hussain left Madina and to his surprise he received many letters from the people of Kufa stating that they were willing to accept Imam's allegiance(This means to accept Hussain Ibn Ali as the Imam). Hussain Ibn Ali asked his cousin, MUSLIM IBN AQEEL to go there. And within a short time, the cousin of Syed us Shohda was so pleased to see the people of Kufa accept Hussain's allegiance that he wrote a letter to Imam Hussain stating his happiness.(I may be wrong, also.. An army of about 20,000 people was estabilished to help Hussain Ibn Ali) Little did he knew that no sooner a wicked mocker of Islam, Ubaidullah Ibn Ziyad would be appointed as the governer.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? The worst! Ubaidullah Ibn Ziyad warned the people of Kufa to not to support MUSLIM IBN AQEEL, lest they would be beheaded! And the result? The same people who claimed to support Muslim, ran away. Alas! Muslim Ibn Aqil was left all alone.. Except Hani Ibn Urwah. THEN, WHAT NEXT? Ubaidullah arrested both of them, and commanded to take Muslim Ibn Aqil at the top of the govt. house, behead him and throw his body from the top so that the people of Kufa are warned about the outcome of supporting Hussain.

WHAT ABOUT IMAM HUSSAIN THEN? AND KARBALA? Yeah, when Hussain Ibn Ali received the news of his cousin-Muslim's death. He wept bitterly.. He never knew that his cousin would be matyred. Still, he continued his journey when 1000 horsemen led by Hur Al Riyahi stopped the caravan of Hussain.
STOPPED? WHAT HAPPENED THEN? Imam Hussain offered the Yazid's army food and water to drink as much as they wanted. Just look at the genorisity and kindness of our Maula.. Mashallah! Meanwhile, Shimr Bin DhilJawshan was completely against the idea of finding peace with Hussain Ibn Ali
GUESS WHAT? The commander of Yazid's army-Umr Ibn Saad was made to choose between two options. Either to go to war with the grandson of Prophet or leave his duty as a commander.. Ah! What can we expect from a mocker of Islam? He opted to FIGHT AGAINST HUSSAIN IBN ALI.
