    LILY SAILOR

"Come on! You can kick harder than that!"

"I'm trying," I huff. I kick my dad's legs to try to make him lose footing.

"Problem one. You always look at weak defenses of your enemy but you never ever look away from their arms or legs. They can catch you off guard."

I swing my leg harder this time to knock him out. His body landed with a loud thud and I smile.

"HA!" I laugh as I give my dad a hand to get up.

"Nice job," He says, nodding. Normally, Dad does not give compliments easily. Even though I got a small one, I'm grinning from ear to ear. I'll show him.

    "I'm good da-" I start.

"Try again." I fight an urge to roll my eyes as he cuts me off. He gets brownie points for being the best dad in the world, though he shows it in a weird way.

"I'm good at this, Mr. Sailor," I emphasized. "I want to go on a real mission with you and Fin!" I hated that my voice sounded a little bit whiny, but it was about time I could go help my dad and Fin out. I could do it, my dad just doesn't see it.

"Lily, we've been through this already. I know that you're good at fighting but it's different."

"Sexist," I mutter and it was the truth. It's always 'Fin this Fin that' what about a 'Lily this Lily that'? Was that too hard to ask?

My dad, Chief Sailor was the head of the police department. He always trains me in the gym, but he never lets me go with him and Finley, my twin brother, on a police 'mission'. Something about being 'not as skilled as Fin.' I'm plenty skilled, thank you very much. The fact that my dad couldn't see that just made me frustrated.

"Hey, being a mall cop at 17 is amazing, Lily," Dad encourages. So, so, stupid. Gosh. I should've chosen the life of crime. I mean, why not?

"Whatever," I say. I grab my duffel bag and head out to the parking lot. Years ago when I complained about the sexist matter, Dad felt kind of bad for not letting me join him and Fin, so he signed me up to be a mall cop which I really I hate. A mall cop for crying out loud.

"See you later, Lily!" I get into my car, frustrated. Why wouldn't he just listen to me? Give me a chance for once? Was it too much to ask? I hate being looked down upon just because I'm a girl. It is utterly unfair,

"I'll show him," I whisper. I drive home and head to my room. The best place where I can vent and rage all at one spot. Personal rooms are truly the best place on Earth.

"Fin?" No answer. He's probably hanging out with Grayson or Josh. Grayson was his best friend since first grade while he met their third musketeer their freshman year. Those three pigs are inseparable. I wish I could relate. Gosh, I'm so damn lonely.

I take a shower and then I put my blonde hair into a messy bun. I pull on shorts and a white tank top and I put my earbuds in. If only mom were here. She'd tell me to go with Fin and dad on missions. How am I supposed to fulfill my promise? I punch a pillow. What daughter does not keep her promise to her dead mother?

"Lily!"

I jump and I jump into a fighting stance, taking out my earbuds. I look up to see Fin.

"What the hell!" I hold a hand over my beating heart. Talk about giving me a heart attack.

"Oh my gosh. Lily, I said your name three times. Three! Tres! If I was a robber, I would've killed you by now." I stick my tounge out at him. Was it a crime to jam out to the best songs of all time? Fin needs to loosen up.
