I wanted to yell at her so badly but no words came out. I just watched her leave. I sigh as I ran my hand through my hair. She said she loved me without tapping her left hand. She told me her reason with no hesitation. All of that meant nothing though. She and I just weren't meant to be but looking at her still hurt. I sink to my knees and I buried my hands into my hands. I grab the money and I leave the room.

Ten Months Later (Alec Evans)

I wish I didn't think about her anymore. I blew out my candles.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Dev shouts for the 100th time today. I ruffle his hair.

"Thanks." I looked at all the members around me. It has been a long time since we had a gathering with everyone.

A few hours, everyone left my house. Dev and I lived alone together.

"Alec, please don't me mad at me but I have something for you," Dev says handing me a box.

I take it from him. "Why would I be mad?" I say. "It's not snakes it is?" I tease him as I open the box. There were a bunch of papers in it.

"I have been seeing her after school," Dev says softly. "She handed me a note everyday to give to you but you were still mad so I waited."

I stare at Dev. He had told me that he had after school tutorials everyday. How could I believe that? This kid was too smart. "Hey, it's okay," I lie.

Dev smiles a little bit and leaves the room to give me privacy. Smart kid. I open a note.

Dear Alec, It hurts to not talk to you. It hurts not to see you. But the worst pain is that I still love and miss you everyday. Love, Lily.

I sigh. Of course she bites me back on my birthday. I'm always going to be on her hook no matter what happens. I reach into the box and pull out another one.

Dear Alec, I like the name Laneya. X, Lily.

Well that was random. Maybe these are supposed to be read in order.

Dear Alec, I think I started to love you the first time I met you. Being tied to a chair and all. Forever yours, Lily.

I bite my lip. I started loving her the first night too. I groan. I have to talk to her. The last day I talked to her, I didn't get a thing. I rub my eyes.

"Hey, Dev," I say as I walk downstairs to him watching TV.

"Yeah?" He asks, pausing the TV.

"Are you going to see her tomorrow?" I ask.

I see Dev grin. "Indeed," he says. Then he turns serious in a blink of an eye. "Don't freak out though, please."

I roll my eyes, smiling. "Who says I'll freak out?"

"I do," Dev says resuming the TV.

"1 more hour and lights out, okay?"

"Yeah, sure," Dev answers.

The next morning, I wake up Dev and I leave breakfast at the table feeling happier than usual even though I know I shouldn't be.

"Come on, kiddo, you're going to be late."
