When people think of Summer- they think of bright blue skies, and the hot sun beaming down on them without remorse or bias as to who gets a sunburn, and who doesn't. When you think about the Sun in this light; it makes you think about how life can be that way sometimes. It can be cruel to others, and nice to a few, or maybe even vice versa. In this case however, its Cruelty that life decided to give to the unfortunate few who live in this shadowy place immersed deep in the wilderness, only to be seen when looked for hard enough. I know what your wondering; what does this have anything to do with the story? Well hold on, and let me explain.
Marin is a 15 year old girl with way too much time on her hands, and money in her bank account. Marin wanted to go to the Mary grove forest so she could have something to brag about to her friends, who i am quite sure aren't her real friends. Incase you don't know, the Mary grove forest is where only the richest of people go to spend time when they have too much of it on there hands, and Marin happened to be one of those people. And she planned to spend every bit of money that her parents allowed her to have.
