Unexpected turnabouts

Three months from now, the major event that decides the number one guild in Fiore will be held: The Grand Magic Games!
It's a festival in which people compete in various events using magic. During the seven years we were gone, Fairy tail became the weakest guild in the kingdom of Fiore, so to get back to number one, we decided to participate in the Grand Magic Games.

But those of us who were in the Tenrou group have a seven-year "blank", so we may not be able to keep up with the fighting styles of this age.

There are three months until the festival. So I made plan. I decided that I wouldn't join Lucy and the others to the beach.

Me and Evie agreed to go to the mountains and train. I only did this because in the book that Porlyusica gave me, it said that the training would be very destructive, so I wanted to put my friends out of harms way.

For about two months, I trained nonstop. Everyday was the same routine. Wake up, train myself, eat some food, rest, train again, and go to sleep. And I would repeat the same thing over and over again. But I didn't just train myself, I trained Evie as well. I taught her a couple of wind spells so that way, if anything went wrong, she would be able to defend herself in case of an emergency.

On the third month, five days before the Grand Magic Games, something unexpected happened

"Yo, Evie!" I called out. Evie turned her head to me as she was just finishing her fish.

"I'm going to go explore, wanna come?" I asked. After throwing the fish bones in the fire pit, which was merely just a pile of ash, she ran to me and jumped up to land on my shoulder. "Of course I wanna come!" Evie replied

I started to walk forward until we reached to the bottom of the mountain. As I was walking, I tugged on some leaves from the trees and chowed down on them. Beneath my feet, the dirt started to grow into fine grass. "Wow, I never I knew I did that..." I said to myself.

We continued exploring until we noticed the something in the distance.

"What's that?" Evie asked. I shrugged. "Lets go check it out." I stated.

As we continued to walk forward, we started to have a full view of the place. There were ruins. White walls and pillars were in different places of the small land. But what caught my attention that there was a big hole that went through two walls. I furrowed my eyebrows in suspicion.

"What is this? And why is there a hole on each of these two walls?" I asked. Evie opened her wings and flew to the big hole on one of the walls.
"Maybe it was always like that since the beginning?" Evie assumed as she shrugged.

I shook my head and sniffed the wall. "It's faint, but if I had to guess, these holes was made about three months ago..." I noted, suspicion laced in my voice. What I noticed is that there was a small hole-like valley that was at least a few centimeters in the ground. The hole-like valley led from the wall to a small hill.

"What the..." I stopped mid-sentence. I walked towards and up the small hill. There was a rock lying on top of the hill. I sniffed and smelled two faint scents of...Dragons. I widened my eyes. These two scents definitely did not belong to the other Dragon Slayers in Fairy tail. Heck, this scent didn't even belong to Cobra! One of them was unfamiliar, but the other...I just couldn't place my finger on it. It was so familiar that it made my head hurt. Literally.

I pushed my fingers against my temple to try to supress the pain. I groaned softly. I felt some heavy weight being added to my shoulder, I looked and noticed that it was Evie.

"Are you okay?" she asked. I nodded as the pain slowly started to fade away. "Yeah, I'm fine." I reassured. Evie's ears flopped a little in concern. "Stop worrying, I'm fine, really." I said softly. Evie said 'ok' in response, but there was a little doubt in her voice.
