WILL POV
I wanted to walk all the way to y/n's house, which took about fifteen minutes on foot. I didn't really care for taking the bike. As I made my way up the sidewalk in their neighborhood, I got a weird feeling. I felt like I was being followed. I knew it was a silly thing to feel since there was nobody else here besides y/n and the demogorgons, and they were in Hawkins Laboratory. Nevertheless, I couldn't shake the feeling. I decided to head over to the park down the block from Mike's house.
"Darling you got to let me know..." I sang quietly. "Should I stay or should I go?"
Singing that song always made me feel safe, something that I knew wasn't exactly the case right now. I walked over to the swings and sat down, kicking my feet lightly.
"If you say that you are mine, I'll be here 'til the end of time. So you got to let me know, should I stay or should I..." I trailed off.
I heard a snarl from behind me. I turned around and saw a small creature hiding behind the slides. I tried shooing it away, but it just sat there snarling quietly. I walked over to it, bending down to get a better look through the pouring rain.
It looked a bit like a tadpole or a really fat slug, but I wasn't exactly sure what it was. When I got close enough, it ran away, darting across the playground quickly.
"Wait!" I yelled. "Come back!"
I ran after it as it seemed to slither over to wooded area across the street. It moved fast, but I was still able to keep up with it. It stopped suddenly, disappearing behind a nearby bush.
"Wait!"
I knelt down, peeking underneath the bush. I couldn't see where it was, though; it was too dark and the rain, despite how light it was, made it hard to see anything. I stood up and pushed past the bush to look inside. I still couldn't see it. It seemed to have disappeared completely.
I sighed and moved around the bush, crawling around for the creature, but it still wasn't there. I sighed again, for what seemed like the millionth time, and decided to head back to the playground. I turned around, facing the direction I had come, only to realize that none of it looked the same. It was like the trees had shifted and the path disappeared.
I circled the area multiple times, trying to find some sort of way out. When I couldn't find any path, I ran in all different directions, but the land just expanded into more trees and branches and shrubs.
I was trapped and there was no way out. No. Way. Out.
"Will..." I heard a voice call after me.
It sounded so familiar.
"Mom?"
"Will, honey, can you hear me?" she seemed to whisper in the air.
"Mom, where are you? I-I can't see you!"
"Oh, sweetie, I'm coming... I'm coming to get you, okay?"
I nodded as if she could see me. When she didn't say anything back, I began to worry.
"Mom? Mom, please don't go! I-I'm scared! Please don't leave me. I'm so scared!" I cried out.
Thunder crashed and the rain seemed to pour down heavier than before. I felt something move against my foot and looked down. There were vines moving towards me at an unnatural speed. I spun on my heels and took off in the opposite direction. I kept running, hoping for some sort of clearing to show up, but nothing changed. There was still nothing but trees and branches and shrubs. I turned back, glancing for a moment at the vines as they chased me, and noticed that there were more.
Out of nowhere, a tree root stood in my path causing me to trip and fall towards the ground. I tried to crawl backwards, but instead slipped and fell down a small but steep hill. I rolled down the side of the hill and landed into a small and shallow puddle.
Before I could stand back up, I felt the thick, ropey vines wrap themselves around my ankles. I tried my best to get them off, but it was no use. Once they figured they had a good grip on me, the started dragging me towards the direction the came from. I kicked and screamed and even tried to cut myself loose with y/n's pocket knife, but my attempts at escaping had failed.
It didn't hurt, not physically at least. My head still hurt from the crying, but that was just about it. I was more scared than anything else. I was scared of what was about to happen to me. Scared of what would happen to y/n. Scared of my family not being able to find either of us. But what scared me the most, was the fact that I, Will Byers, was going to meet my inevitable doom alone and scared and sad.
It didn't take long before I caught sight of where they were taking me. I was in a field where everything was covered with the vines. It was as if they were weeds in an overgrown garden.
I had managed to cut myself loose and tried to run in the other direction, but the vines were thick and completely blocked the path. I turned around, glad to see that there were no vines yet to be seen, and ran. I just ran, as fast as I could, I kept my legs moving forward.
I spotted a barn, which was a faded, discolored red. I kept running for the barn, the vines racing after me. I thought, no I knew, I was going to make it. That was until I fell into a huge hole that was in the ground. I tumbled downwards, making sure to cover my face so that I wouldn't get any rocks or dirt in my eyes. My back hit the ground a bit hard, knocking the wind out of me and leaving me coughing and gasping as I sat up.
I let out the last of my coughs and fell back down slowly. My head hurt like hell. I was dizzy and could barely see straight. I did, however, see the vines again. I saw them creeping towards me, dragging me towards the gunk-covered walls of the dirt tunnel and wrapping themselves completely around me. I heard the sharp screeching of a demogorgon along with the faint ringing in my ears.
With the last of the energy I had left, I spoke, "Please... please let me g-" but was cut off by one of the tentacle-like plants attaching itself to my face.

THIRD PERSON POV
A noise was heard from under the pillow lying on the palate.
"Will? Will, are you there?"
There was no answer.
"Will, hello? Are you awake? Can you hear me?"
There was still no answer.
"Will, come in, we need to talk."
