CHAPTER 1
''Maddy can you get the last two boxes out of the truck?'' I heard my father say. I looked up and saw himsticking his head out of the window of one of the rooms of the first floor.
''Yes,dad'' I answered. I walked to the truck and saw the last two boxes in the truck. One was covered with labels with FRAGILE written on them. I have to be careful and not break what's in them, which afcourse will be hard for clumsy me.
I already dropped enough boxes this move.
I decided to first take one box and return later for the second. I picked it up and it was pretty heavy. I walked to our house and put it down in the hallway.
It's still very strange to call it ''our house''. I still don't feel like it's home at all, I don't know anyone here or anything. Back home I knew everything, I've grown up there. But I have to admit this house is huge. We don't even have to use major part of the rooms. It's just me dad and Hanna. Well at least that's already one good thing... I guess?
I walked back to the truck for the last box. It was petty big and I stood there for a while trying to manage to pick it up.
''Need help with that?'' I heard someone saying behind me.
I was shaken out of my thoughts and looked behind me to see who said it. It was a boy, I guess about my age. He had blue eyes and blond hair. A little dimple appeared on his right cheeck when he smiled.
''Erhm...well Actually that would be very nice of you because I have no idea how I could get this in the house without dropping it'' I said with a smile.
''Stay Oscar'' he said to his dog, he was probably walking him out. ''Okay let's see'' he said and he picked the box up with ease. ''Where do you want it?'' he asked.
''Oh just put it in the hallway over here'' I said while walking with him.
He put the box down and threw a quick glance at his dog, who was still sitting where he told him to sit.
''Thank you very much'' I said thankful.
''No problem! everything for a girl in need'' he said. I laughed and smiled back.
'' Oh where are my manners I didn't even introduce my self! He held out his hand '' I'm Ben.''
''Oh actually I have to introduce first I'm the one that just moved here. Nice to meet you Ben I'm Maddelyn.'' I said smiling back.
'' Nice to meet you too we're neighbours I live in the house next door'' he said poiting at the house next to mine. 'my house' still strange to say that I should get used to it. Like everything in this town. Not only our house but also a new school, new mall and new people.
''I'm glad my neighbour seems very nice'' I said.
At that moment his dog started barking. ''Oh I see Oscar is getting impatient, my neighbour seems very nice too. I'll see you around Maddelyn!'' he said and took Oscar with him and walked towards his house.
I walked inside with a small smile and shut the door it was geting pretty cold outside.
''I see you're smiling'' dad said holding my litte sister Hanna in his arms.
I gave her a quick kiss on her cheeck. '' I just met our neighbour and he helped me with a box'' I said.
''Oh that's very sweet.''
''Yes it is, he also looks very nice.'' I hoped everyone in this town would be as nice as he was, but ofcourse that's impossible.
''Good to hear that, you must be very tired, get into your pyjama's dinner is here in 20 minutes.''
''Okay do we already have water? And what's for dinner?''
''We're having pizza.'' he said grinning knowing I loved pizza. '' And if we're lucky we'll have water tomorrow morning so just hold on a little while and you'll be able to take a shower.''
''Okay no problem dad I'll change very quick so I could hold Hanna for you and you can change.''
''Thank you'' He said while I walked upstairs. My room was filled with boxes. I looked for the one with NIGHTWEAR on it. Lucky me I'm a organizing freak and I put everything in boxes and labeld them.
I found the box very quick and got into comfortble sweatpants and a simple shirt. I couldn't find a hairbrush so I just put my hair quickly in a ponytail and went downstairs.
I took Hanna from dad and he went upstairs to change.
''Yeah we have to unpack your little baby stuff so we don't have to this the entire time'' I said to her. Just wait a little longer I told myself and everything will be clean so she can just sit around wherever she wants.
She just mumbled some strange sounds and started pulling my nose. Hanna just turned 1 not able to mumble just a few words. She started pulling my nose harder.
''Hann stop it! Ouch that hurst Hann!'' I said to her and trying to losen her grip on my nose. After a while she finally let go.
''Well Well my girls a fighting? Is Hanna already acting like a annoying little sister?'' Dad said grinning while he walked downstairs. He had sweatspants on too and a simple shirt.
Then the bell rung. '' That must be the pizza!'' I said a bit overenthousisatic. Dad laughed at me and walked to the door a few minutes later he was back with two boxes of pizza.
We sat down eating on the floor with pillows underneath us at the small table, in front of the tv. Which wasn't connected yet. So we put the laptop in front of us and watched a movie.
Hanna fell asleep after the first 30 minutes, it's been a very long day for her today. After the movie finished I cleaned the table and he made our 'beds' ready.
Even our beds weren't ready yet so we had to sleep on mattresses on the floor in the livingroom.
When I came back from the kitchen with two glasses of milk for the both of us he had already finished. With alot of pillows around the mattresses and alot of blankets. It looked very cozy.
'' It's not warm this time...'' I said while handing him his milk. '' Yes baby I know we have to settle our things down and we will as soon as possible.
After finishing our milk we got into our 'beds'. Our mattresses were placed next to eachother and we put Hanna to sleep in between us wrapped up in alot of blankets.
''Goodnight girl'' He said.
''Goodnight dad'' I replied.
After a few minutes of silence I said:'' Thanks dad, for everything you're the best you know.''
'' Thank you Maddy for being such a help to me.'' He replied and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
After that I fell quickly in a very deep sleep. I was exhausted from this day.
The next morning I woke up very relaxed. Not even annoyed by Hanna that she woke me up early.
No nightmares! That's why I felt do good. The nightmares that haunted me every night didn't this night. Maybe this is really a new start. I found it hard when dad told me we all should start again all of us.
Maybe this is really a new start.
** Helloooo well this is my new story ^^ I've written it for a looong time ago but then I became very sick ;( and was even in intensive care for a while :( so I couldn't Upload it but now I finally can! (:
