   "Paul!!!" John screamed.
The wolf had leapt at Paul and was now on top of him, growling  and biting at him.
"John! Please help me!" Paul shrieked.
"Hang on Macca I'm coming!" John said as he picked up a fallen branch. "Take this! Stupid wolf!" John yelled as he began hitting the wolf with the branch. The wolf let out a yelp and, after what felt like years, took off into the night. By this time, the other Beatles had woken up and were, at first, confused, but quickly became horrified as they saw Paul on the ground, clothes torn and bloody.
"Paul! Are you alright?" John asked as he bent down to Paul's level and examined his injuries.
"I think so. It's just a few scratches."
"It looks like a little more than a few scratches, Paul," John said as he caught a glance a Paul's very bloody arm.
"Hey, I think I remembered seeing a first aid kit in the backpack.  We could use it to doctor those 'scratches,' " George said as he got up to grab the backpack.
"Thanks for saving me, John. I would have been dead meat if you hadn't taken action," Paul said as he rubbed his arm.
"It was no big deal, really. You would have done the same for me."
"Yeah, yeah, of course I would!" Paul said, as he nervously chuckled and looked at anything besides John.
"Your full of it Macca!" John laughed.
"Does this mean that the two of you will actually talk to one another again? Because, the awkwardness was really starting to get annoying," Ringo said.
"Yeah, I suppose," John said as he playfully eyed Paul.
   "Good."
"I got the first aid kit everyone!" George exclaimed as he made his way over to Paul. "Alright, let's take a look."
Paul moaned as he gave George his arm.
"It's not too bad," George said, trying to sound convincing.
"Y'know what I'd be afraid of?" John said quietly.
"What?" said a now scared Paul.
   "Rabies," was John's response.
"Oh, sod off Lennon! Can't you see the poor lad is in enough pain already! George snapped.
"Oh, come off it! It was only a joke!"
"Paul, did you think it was very funny? Um, Paul?"
The three of them looked down to find that Paul was already asleep, unaware of the argument that had ensued before him.
"Poor lad is absolutely knackered," Ringo said as he also yawned.
"I don't blame him after the night he's had," George replied as he finished wrapping Paul's arm with bandages. "I guess we all should get back to sleep."
"Sounds like a wonderful idea," John said as he layed a blanket over Paul. "Goodnight!"
"Goodnight!" the other two replied in unison.
Fifteen minutes later they were all fast asleep.

______________

George felt the warm sun heating up his skin. He shifted to his back to find that a bright light was now entering his eyes. "Why did I leave my light on last night?" he thought. That's when it hit him. "I'm in the woods. That's right." He got up and stretched his sore body. He looked over at Ringo and found that he was still asleep, stretched out on the hard ground. He then found John and Paul, who were leaning against a log for support. Paul was still bloody from the wolf attack and was holding his wounded arm as he slept, while John was leaning towards Paul, his mouth hanging wide opened. It was then that George decided he was hungry. "I guess I can look through the backpack," he thought. "Maybe there's something in there."  George searched the backpack about a hundred times but didn't find anything edible. "What are we gonna do?"  he wondered. It was then that Ringo woke up.
"Whatcha doin'?" he asked as he made his way towards George.
"Just trying to figure out what we're gonna eat."
"There's not any more granola bars?"
"No, we ate all of them"
"Well, I guess all we can do is make our way out of here before anyone dies of starvation."
   "I guess."
It was then that John woke up. He glanced over at Paul and sighed, and then noticed that George and Ringo were already up.
   "What're you two doing?"
"We're working on the plan of attack," George answered. "We don't have any more food, so we're just gonna have to find our way out before anyone dies of starvation."
John applauded at that. "Bravo! We'll just keep trudging along and hope that we find civilization. Great plan!"
"Well, what would you like us to do, John?" George sighed in frustration.
"I don't know, but I would really like to get out of this stupid forest!" John yelled.
"We all would," Paul said as he sat up, "But they're right. All we can do is keep moving and hope that we find our way out."
"Well, in that case, let's get moving!" John said half sarcastically as he raised a stick above his head and began to march forward.
"Paul, can you make it?" Ringo asked with concern.
"Of course, I'll be fine. We'd better catch up to him, though," Paul said as he gestured towards the marching John.
"You're right!" George said as he quickly grabbed the backpack and blankets. "Let's catch up!"

______________

It was nearing the afternoon and the four Beatles were still lost in the dense forest. George was secretly losing hope and Ringo could tell.
"We'll make it out, mate, don't worry," Ringo whispered.
"Yeah, but, what if we don't," George said with worry evident in his voice.
  "We will."
Meanwhile, John was walking with Paul. John kept discreetly glancing over at Paul to make sure he was alright, but Paul soon noticed and got irritated.
"Look, John! I'm fine! Would you please stop eyeing me like I'm some kind of injured deer!
"I just want to make sure that you're alright....and I'm still checking for signs of Rabies."
   "Oh, whatever, John."
Suddenly, everyone jumped as Ringo began to yell,"Hey, guys! Do you see that?"
   "See what?" George asked.
"The dog of course! What else?"
John and Paul stared at each other with the same confused expression on each of their faces.
"Um, Rings, are you seeing a mirage or something?" John said with concern.
"No, John. How do you not see that?"
   "Wait! He's right!" Paul gasped.
And, sure enough, a black and brown German Shepherd made its way toward them.
"Hey there little fella," Ringo said as he bent down to pet its head. "What're you doing way out here by yourself?"
"Ringo, I don't think he's by himself," Paul said as he tapped Ringo's shoulder.
   "What do you mean?"
And that's when he saw it. The police were running towards them, accompanied by their manager, Brian Epstein.
"Hey! We're here!" they cried out.
"Boys! We found you!" Brian yelled.
"Boy, am I glad to see you!" John exclaimed.
"I never thought I'd hear you say that, Lennon!" Brian laughed.
   "Neither did I," John chuckled.
"So, what happened? You were supposed to be back yesterday afternoon and...oh my goodness, Paul, what happened to your arm? Brian cried suddenly.
   "Wolf attack," Paul replied simply.
"Oh, come on now be serious."
   "I am being serious."
"Hm, well, either way, it needs to be cleaned up before you get Rabies or something."
John looked at Paul and began to snicker at Brian's remark. Paul just rolled his eyes.
   "So, again, what exactly happened?"
"Well, that is a long story," said George.
   "I've got time."
And with that, they began to explain the rather lengthy story of their hiking trip as they made their way out of the thick forest and back to civilization.
