[EXT. Rooftop in Gotham, 01:20 AM; February 4th]
"I've got something for you."
"What's that?"
"It's a signal button. If you're ever in trouble, just press the button and I'll get the distress signal and your location."
"Awe, are you worried about me?"
"I am, actually. You're my friend."
"Didn't think you'd admit it that easily."
"Well, you are. You're a breath of fresh air, to be honest - my only friend that isn't involved with the life. You treat me like I'm normal, or as close to that as I can get."
"Except we only talk in the dead of night and you're always in costume."
"Yeah, except that."
"Will you ever show me your face?"
"Perhaps, one day. If Batman allows it."
"Why should he allow it? You're your own person, Red."
"But, if you know who I am, you'll know who the rest of them are and in order for you to know that, you have to get through a lot of grilling first. He'd do a background check, know every single aspect of your life - that is, if he already hasn't done that. Then he'd intimidate you. Threaten you, see how you cope and what your intentions are. That's how he is."
"It just seems like he cares about you and doesn't want you to get hurt."
"He cares about the Mission. That's all he cares about. The Mission and how not to compromise it."
"I think you're wrong. But, I also don't know him. You do and if you don't want me getting grilled, then so be it. Though, I don't mind. I haven't done anything wrong other than skip a few classes, but I don't think he'd care about that."
"You should see my attendances - that was atrocious."
"Mister Smart-guy not smart enough to attend school?"
"More like, too smart to attend school. Hated it there and came to like two classes every week - usually spent the time drinking coffee somewhere or hanging out with Batgirl. She never attended, either. Anyway, I had the worst attendance but the best grades. I managed to go under my dad's nose until I didn't. I failed to intercept one call and that was probably one of the biggest fights I've had with him, ever."
"He got that angry?"
"He was furious. I do understand why, now, but I didn't back then. Sometimes I wish I'd done things differently."
"What, attended school more?"
"In general. With my dad."
"Oh."
"Sorry for dampening the mood. What are yo-"
"This is called a hug, Birdbrain. People do it to console others, greet each-other, et cetera, et cetera."
"I know what a hug is, Marguerite. What are you laughing at?"
"Nothing, nothing. Something just popped in my head, no biggie."
"What?"
"Just. How you say my name."
"Am I saying it wrong or-?"
"No, no. It just. Sounds good."
"Oh. Well. Um."
"Yeah... Uh, sorry."
"Did you just yawn on me?"
"No, no, you saw wrong."
"I think I didn't. You should go to sleep."
"Yeah, probably should."
"Come on, let's get you to bed."
"Hey, I've got one more question."
"Ask."
"Can I at least know your name? Or part of it? One letter or somethi-"
"It's Tim."
"Oh. Tim. That's cute. Suits you."
"Goodnight, Marguerite."
