The morning of 28th could be described in one word for Genevieve: Late.
She had woken up an hour late and merely had 20 minutes to get ready and apparate to Hogwarts.

'Come on Gen, late on the first day, what type of first impression is that?!' she scolded herself as she put on her signature cream blouse, brown suit trousers, small black heels and her travelling cloak.

She quickly fixed her hair, flattening down any flyaways, put on her hat, grabbed her wand off the nightstand and apparated outside the gates of the castle.

'And barely a minute to spare' Genevieve congratulated herself as she briskly walked to the giant-sized doors of the enchanted castle.

"Oh no, where did Albus say the interviews were being held?" Genevieve mumbled to herself as she walked down the ever-changing corridors.

"Great, now I'm lost" she huffed to herself. ' Really and to think you went to school here' she ridiculed herself as she went around another dark corner only to fall flat on her arse.

"What do you think you're doing you insolent woman" the tall man sneered at her.

'How rude' she thought. "Well maybe if you looked where you were going you wouldn't have walked into me" she counted back.

" I walk into you!" he insinuated. "Maybe if you looked where you were going you wouldn't have run into me and maimed my work" he huffed back.

"How dare you. I have done no such thing. Maybe your big nose is disrupting your line of vision you ignorant man" Genevieve scoffed at him as she walked down the corridor only to be held back by the horrible being.

"You dare insult me when you're clearly in the wrong. Do you know who I am?" he stood up to full height to intimate Genevieve like a predator with his prey.

"I couldn't care less who you think you are you're a vile and horrible man and if you'd be so considerate you'd let me leave because I have somewhere to be," she instructed him.

He loosened his grip on her wrist. Genevieve pulled away and continued to walk down the hallway, now in a foul mood.

'What an outrageous and unpleasant man' she thought as she finally made it to the headmaster's office, late once again.

" Genevieve Blackwell"

'Ok breathe' Genevieve thought to herself as she followed Professor McGonagall into the charming office.

"Miss Blackwell, please have a seat" Dumbledore addressed her while gesturing to the chair in front of his desk.

"Thank you, sir" she spoke politely as she sat down in the comfortable leather-bound chair.

"Now you're applying for the  Theory of magic post, is that correct?" he asked her as he examined her information sheet with his half-moon spectacles.

"Yes sir" Genevieve answered tapping her fingers of one another.

"We've had much older and more experienced, candidates, than yourself here today Miss Blackwell; so tell me why I should hire you instead of the others?" he asked her, taking off his glasses to look at her properly.

'Ok Gen, just like we rehearsed.' she thought to herself before speaking.

"Well professor what is magic?" she asked bluntly.

Dumbledore was taken back by her question whilst McGonagall raised an eyebrow at her deliverance of the question.

"Well, it's the power of influencing events by.." he was cut off by Genevieve.

"By using mysterious or supernatural forces. Yes, that is correct by the textbooks but what is magic? How is it that we can do magic as children without having heard of any spells?" she asked the older man, walking around his office, looking at the various knick-knacks spread across the large room.

"Well, I Don't know, do enlighten me Miss Blackwell" Dumbledore inquired, joining his hands together.

"I want to teach the children the magic is not just spells and enchantments, but within us, and be able to summon that magic. I want to teach them to broaden their minds in specific situations where they will have to magic themselves without relying on spells they already know"Genevieve told him proudly as she explained how with passion, she would inform the young witches and wizards.

"Well, that was very enlightening Miss Blackwell." Dumbledore addressed her as she sat back down in the chair.

"When will you be able to start, " he asked her.

Genevieve was over the moon as he had accepted her as a professor.

"Oh, right away sir.Thank you very much, sir." Genevieve let out as she smiled brightly ear to ear.

"Welcome to Hogwarts Professor Blackwell" he enunciated as he showed her out.

"Thank you very much, sir. You won't regret it!"Genevieve thanked him as she walked back to the gates of the castle with a spring in her steep, ready to apparate home.
